Getting ready to get my OME lift installed on my 05. I bought the 1/4" spacer for the drivers side, will I need the extended lugs for it to install properly? Can you buy these lugs at lowes/home depot by chance?

I'm planning on picking up the Stage 2 Icon suspension (tubular UCA's) for my 06 sport on the Metaltech 20% off black Friday sale coming up. I've read that I will need longer rear brake lines. Metal tech reccomended this kit for $65.

My question is, is it worth getting just the rears, or should I go with a goodridge or crown kit that replaces all 6? And 2" is enough for a 3" icon lift??

goodridge kit:

Thanks for the help, new to trucks and want to make sure I do this right the first time around.

Compiled: FJ Springs Lift Info for 4th gen

I did the FJ cruiser coils and 5100 shocks on mine and I’m really happy with it. Go through that thread and there is a lot of great information. You can do it yourself with basic tools and some YouTube videos

I was looking to move my 6112 clip up a notch. Can i do this while still mounted vehicle or would i have to take them off and disassemble them?

I just a little confused if i do it while still mounted it just compresses the spring more and staying the same height vs disassembling it and like reset the preload

Shocks have to removed and disassembled. Do not use those cheap spring compressors you can rent. Have a shop do it correctly or you could try the "no compressor" method if you know what you're doing.

Thanks i appreciate the info.

I have never really trusted those cheap spring compressors. When i had these 6112 assembled i did take it to a professional shop. Worth $50 and done within 5 or 8 mins.

the shop that installed and later adjusted the ride height of my 6112s did it. by removing the strut assembly and while compressing the spring and moving the c-clip. It is possible but you need to use a standing spring compressor. Would i try this at home....nope..

This is correct. You can adjust the clip while the spring is compressed using a wall mount compressor. This of course requires removing the assembly, compressing the spring, repositioning the clip, and then releasing the pressure of the spring allowing it back onto the seat. You don't have to disassemble them but you do have to remove them

Question on suspension lift and tire size (I'm new)

I have a 2005 4runner v6, and I want to fit 285/75r16 (Or 285/70r17) and I was wondering if I could fit that with Bilstein 5100s in the front, max setting (which is 2.5 I believe), the Toytech 1" body lift. I am not sure what to do about the rear though, would the OME 895 work on stock rear shocks? If Bilstein had a rear option that actually provided lift I would go with that but I don't believe they have one. If that's not enough to fit that size tire than what is?

Looking for some spring rate/clip setting advice. I've decided to go with Bilstein 6112s for the front. I plan on adding a CBI bumper, skid plates, and a winch in the near future. From the research I've done I see that the springs that come with the Bilsteins are not enough for those add-ons, especially with a V8.

I am looking at King springs, and can't decide between the 650lb and 700lb springs. I would prefer to do the least amount of preload with about 2" of lift.

If I go with 700lb and none of the other mods yet, would the lowest clip setting be sufficient for 2"?
