5th gen suspension on 4th gen

I am about to do the 5th gen suspension to my 2wd 4th gen, I will have to do measurements and maybe it can get added to the list!

Hi everyone I’m a new member here in Kelowna.I have had my 05 4Runner for three plus years now and I have finally decided to do some suspension upgrades as well as wheels and tires. Does anybody happen to know if there is a 4Runner expert near me that can advise me and do the work on the truck based on my specific needs? I have been doing a lot of research online but like in any field there is a lot of misinformation. Thanks in advance. You can pm me if that’s an option here
Cheers

Suspension Components to Replace with Lift

Hey guys - I have a 2003 4runner with V8 and only 80k miles. A Toytec Boss lift kit, 1" Toytec body lift and JBA upper control arms are sitting in my garage begging to be installed...

What other suspension parts would you recommend replacing as general / preventative maintenance while I'm digging into this project in a few weeks?

You lucky bastard. How did you find that unicorn?

I'd assume that at that age and mileage, no one has replaced any rubber stuff. Check CV boots, check bushings, both ball joints. Replace timing belt soon if it hasn't ever been replaced.

Probably want the diff drop and sway bar relocate kits too. I'd recommend changing the sway bushings at that point too.

Thanks man. I’m super fortunate. Bought it from my boss’s dad who is the original owner. 10 years ago I told him I’d like to buy it and he recently decided he was ready to sell LOL.

I’ll plan to replace those parts while I tear it apart. This is shaping up to be a full weekend!

What size tires are you going to run? I am a huge fan of the rear bump stops by Toytec to prevent tires caking inside the wheel well.

I’m thinking 285/70/17 on SCS wheels. I think the Toytec Boss kit has bump stops. Do you mean something different?

Overland/Heavy Build

Recently Built up a 2005 v6 to use as a North American Overland rig. Rooftop tent, loads of water, big dometic fridge etc. Way overweight....7000+ lbs.
Roughly 3" lift with Toytec Coilovers in front with new UCAs and heaviest Dobinson springs made for that rig on the back coupled with their recommended shocks. While truck sits level and seems fine in most conditions, even a single high speed "bump" creates a reverberating BOUNCE on back. IE, hit one bump on highway that translated into three large BOUNCES and felt like vehicle was on the verge of losing control and careening off the road. Front of truck stayed grounded and tracking, but rear was really out of control to a very unsettling degree. Installer mentioned Dobinson Shocks seemed pretty anemic...could easily be extended by hand before installation. Soliciting suggestions for rear shocks that would be more capable of taming the beast on the odd high speed bump....without the expectation of being able to run fast/rally style over crazy terrain which will never be the goal with this vehicle. Any thoughts?
One suggestion was OME Nitrocharger Sport Shocks - part # 60005?

I believe Dobinsons and Toytec have what you're looking for. They're listed in mm not inches however.
