Yeah, i just used the calculator and realized that a 265/65 18 has the same 31.6in dimater as a 265/70 17. Here is how it would break down.

Tire Specs - 265/70 18
Sidewall - 7.3in
Radius - 16.3in
Diameter - 32.6in
Circumference - 102.4in

Tire Specs - 265/65 18
Sidewall - 6.8in
Radius - 15.8in
Diameter - 31.6in
Circumference - 99.2in

Tire Specs - 265/70 17
Sidewall - 7.3in
Radius - 15.8in
Diameter - 31.6in
Circumference - 99.3in

I will probably go with the 265/65 since i have the 18's

Even with the 265/65/18 you'll still likely need a little work to make them fit. I'm running 255/75/17 with Spidertrax, even with 3" front, 1.75" rear lift I still had to move the liner forward and take the mud flaps off. It's a slightly larger tire, but I've also got more lift. Even with the liner moved forward, I still get a slight rub at times.
Tire Specs - 255/75 17
Sidewall - 7.52 in
Radius - 16.02 in
Diameter - 32.05 in
Circumference - 100.6 in

Would you guys mind me asking how bad the rub would be with this setup?
Full FJ TT
DS 2.5/1.5
All-Pro 1.5" spacers
Duratrac 265/70/17
And also a V6 if that changes much

Move the liner forward and possibly trim the edge of the bumper. Read this page, almost identical to what you're looking at.

Ah yea, I've read that already. I was hoping I would have less of a problem with rub with the extra lift from the FJ setup, since JA only runs the Daystar kit from the last I time I checked. Would a body lift help at all with this issue? I didn't see this answered in your OP, sorry if you've covered this already.

You're right on his setup. His tires are also a lot less aggressive, the duratrac will be harder to fit. A body lift would help, but IMO that'd be too much lift for a 32" tire. It shouldn't be too hard to get those to fit, but woo require some modification.

I have 265/65/18 on my 4runner with 18X9 +25 wheels. This has the same effective offset as stock wheels with spidertrax. I have Bilstein 5100s set to 1.75 in front and stock rear. This gave me a 1.25 inch lift in front. I get no rubbing at all. I have done no cutting or trimming and I still have all the mudflaps on.

Thanks for all the help ARK. Maybe I'll just put the two front spacers on first to see just how much it'll clip my bumper.

No problem, glad to help. If you haven't noticed, I like to plan for the worst, that way you're prepared. You may not have that much trouble, and if you don't that's good news for you

So you have bilsteins up all the way and fit 265/65 duratracs?? So could i fit 275/6 duratracs with minor rub if i were to do bilsteins???

No I have the Bilsteins set to 1.75 in front, not 2.5 which is the highest. That is with stock springs.

I don't have Duratracs, I have Falken Rocky Mountain ATS, they are not as agressive.

Depending on your wheel size and offset (you did not mention if you are going with a 17 or 18 inch rim), the 275/65 Duratracs will fit at the 2.5 inch lift setting easily, and probably at the 1.75 setting with a little trimming if you are running 18 inch wheels. Again this will depend on you wheel size, offset and spacer setup.

If you are talking a 17 inch wheel OEM rims with a 275/65/17 tire and spidertrax spacer the answer is yes, they will fit at 1.75 or 2.5 without any issue. It might need very minor trimming/fender liner adjustment and the 1.75 setting.

Duratracs don't come in a 275/65/17, so it'd have to be the 18s. If you don't have wheel spacers, they should fit easily with the 2.5", will probably need to move the fender liner forward.

great write up!

Though I do have a question. I currently have the DS 2.5-1.5 installed. If I don't want to put it to waste (considering upgrading my suspension), what are my best options so that i can keep the ds.

I think I understand that the OME wont work with it(without some major work), as the common spacer is 1/4"-1/2"..

FJ upgrade? coilovers? I think I've seen someone on here with the ds and fj upgrade.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be great. I like the sound of the adjustable coilovers.

Ps. I have 1.25 spidertrax and 265 75 r16 bfg ta ko's

thanks guys
JD

The only way to reuse that is to add FJ coils. This is not in the same class as the other options you mentioned. If your goal is to lift the 4runner and retain stock ride quality, the FJ coils will do well. If you are looking for better off road performance, the new shocks/coils will be best. If you choose the right setup, your ride quality will be as good if not better than stock. All comes down to if it will be used off road and your budget. Coilovers are great, but you definitely pay for this. If you're not off roading or adding weight such as bumpers, this money can be much better spent IMO.

The limit is ~3" lift to prevent issues. You can combine spacers with lift coils like OME's, but a large spacer will give you more lift than your 4runner can handle. OME will provide ~2.5", so a lot of people use a spacer to give a full 3" or slightly over.

Great thanks.
So I guess I can still expect to see an extra inch (if I'm lucky) of lift over the 2.5" daystar spacer if I go that route?...it would just be good to get it up a bit more. Only doing some moderate off roading..
Was having trouble getting my Sig to show up. Didn't realize it was there..hence the ps in my first post.
