If you add the FJ coils, it'll offer a good bit of on road comfort, but very little off road performance. If you're happy with current performance, only want to be higher, this would be a nice addition. I'd expect about 1" front, .25"-.5" rear. 3.5" lift is pushing the limits of the stock suspension. Some seem to be fine, others have problems. Main issue with over 3" of lift is getting a good alignment, it's hard to get it back in spec. Over 3" will increase wear on other components such as the CV's. With stock shocks, you also run a risk of overextending them, as they're not made to work with that type of lift.

Can any one give me some feedback on a new suspension geared towards towing? I don't need a lift or anything special. I have 129K miles on my 4th Gen runner and the suspension has been squeaking a little when going over speed bumps, hybrids, etc

If you aren't after a lift, it's going to depend on your budget. The best thing you can so for towing is adding rear air bags. Airlifts seem to be most popular, you can get them for under $100 shipped. If your stock suspension is worn, new shocks (5100s or fj shocks) with fj coils would be good. I'd start with the air bags, they'll make the most difference and cost
less.

4th Gen 6" lift with 35x12.5xR20

I do really like the write up but it seems like the 4 gen T4R's are very limited to how much they can be lifted.

Here's a pic of what I have, everything under her is custom with alot of machining, cutting grinding and welding. I had the adjustable airbags (RAS) on the back with the Xreas... so there was a lot of cutting and grinding just clean up the axle. I have Bilstein 5100's and long travel leafs underslung below the axle. For the front, I went with a 6" ProComp Kit - the tacoma was too wide and the Fj was too short for the rear supports. I used the Fj kit but alot of custom fabrication just to get it to fit... still looking for a way to fit my swaybars back in, but she rides real pritty as it is.

Next to come are the front ARB and rear CBI bumpers, skid plates, sliders and so on... eventualy I plan to solid axle the front but that is a long way away still.

Great looking truck! Post it up over in the "Lift and Tire Central" as well.

What wheels and size are those? Same with the tires. Welcome to T4R.ORG!

The only person I'm aware of with that size is yellowssm, he's running a ome/Toytec lift setup though.

Yeah, i was looking at his. I wanted to go with a 275/65 18 but they only had it in an E rated tire, which i don't want. They are bringing both sets of the 265/65 18's and the 265/70 18's from the warehouse for me to look at so we will see.

**Edit: Either way, i am very excited!

Yep, can't go wrong with either imo, looks great as is, new tires will only make it better!

need a leveling kit, what tire size

I have a few questions although this is a great thread!!, i have an 03 sr5 v6 4runner with no lift, stock tire size, and i just added new 16x8 wheels, i wanted to get a level kit, and fit the largest tire size BFG A/T i possibly can, ive read alot of places that the 30" is what the 1" daystar budget kit lets you fit... didnt see anything on this thread for the 16" rim, any imput?

If you look at the original post, add 5 to the center number for your 16" wheels. A 265/65/17 it's the same size as a 265/70/16. Those bfg ats are one of the hardest tires to fit, they tend to rub when other tires of the same size don't. A lot of it will depend on the offset/backspacing of the wheels. If they stock out further than stock, expect it to be more difficult. I would suggest a 265/75/16 if they're available in that size. You'll need to move the fender liner. You'll possibly need to trim the bumper and remove mud flaps.

the Backspacing is 4.45 and the offset is 0, i wanted to fit the largest a/t tire that was able to fit with minimal trimming, preferably no trimming to the actual car, i can deal with mud flaps.. is there an easier tire to fit?

Stock size would fit, that's about it. I don't know for certain, but i believe that those wheels see similar to have spacers, tires stick out further. 265/75/16 will fit with some effort, not a lot. You won't have to completely cut away parts of you ride to make these fit, just a few minor alterations.
