Sorry for the delayed response. Here are the pics I took. Plan on getting larger tires very soon to fill the wheel well a little more. And like I said before I have retained a little forward rake by a little less than an inch. I plan on replacing the rear springs in the future as well, I currently have the FJ springs with 1.5 daystar spacers in the rear.

Question about buying an older 4th gen with 100k+ miles... if I'm planning on lifting the car anyways, is it worth paying the extra money for a Sport/Limited?

The audio upgrades are something I can easily do myself (and better) for ~$300.
I hate to say it, but I love the look of the hood scoop.
Heated/leather seats would definitely be nice, but not essential.
Keyless entry would be really nice.

Am I better off buying a cheap SR5 and upgrading parts that will likely need replacing anyways? Or are the suspension components more durable than I'm giving them credit for?

Sport is better IMO over SR5 cos it will have bigger brakes (but you will have to run 17" rims, which could be argued as a disadvantage) / hood scoop / painted roof rails / dark interior / electric seat adjustment / buttons on the steering. Suspension wise -- they are the same plus you are gonna replace it anyways so dont bother.

Im planning on doing this size with an Icon 3'' set up and all the research and advice I have gotten is for sure a BMC and a lot of trimming in the front wheel wells as well as a pinch weld mod. I did a 1'' toy tech body lift to make sure I got good clearance. good luck.

man really? Im currently running 275/75/17's and barely had to trim the front bumper when i changed the tires from the stock wheel to a pro comp wheel. I feel like I still have enough room where I would just need to do some more light trimming of the bumper and wheel well plastic.

@theforgotten_4r on Instagram is running this size and he isnt running a stock bumper but neither am I, we both have a DO front bumper. if you feel like you could squeeze them in there then go for it. I think your issue is going to be with the body mount if anything. What offset are you running and do you have spacers?

My offset is -6, no spacers and I’m actually planning on putting on the Shrockworks bumper when I upgrade wheels. I do see where they might hit the frame. If I put on spacers I wonder if that would clear it enough?

I would go ahead and get some spacers just in case, they will resell fast especially if not used. If you are planning on running a front bumper then you shouldn't have any issues if you can get your caster right. (-2 to -4) should give you enough froward movement in the wheel well. I not fimiluar with how much room the Shrockworks has vs an oem bumper but I know a lot of people have been satified with them. Might wanna check the lead times on them though because it could take a while to get to ya.

I just posted is in the lift and tire thread but this one seems more appropriate

My buddy just upgraded his 5th gen to some kings and he offered these to me for a 100. It will come with the matching rear springs as well. I did some research and it seems like the front will fit but the rear needs modification to get the rears to work. My 4Runner will have an rtt and rack pretty much full time. Has anyone here performed a similar swap (aftermarket 5th gen installed in a 4th gen)? I’m trying to see if it’s worth it to install or just go with a kit designed for the 4th gen.

Not very familiar with 5th gen stuff but thats an absolute steal for $100. If the front fit, rear springs aren't very expensive, you could just get 4th gen springs and still be in the black. If all else fails, sell the kit and use the money to buy a new 4th gen kit. Win win.

I have a 2005 V8 4wd. Currently on stock suspension but have been running slightly bigger 265/70/17 tires for a while. I’m looking to add maybe 1-2 inches up front, however much is necessary to eliminate the factory rake. I came from a newer Tacoma so I don’t know much about the suspension of these 4runners. I’ve heard that spacers are easy, but that bilsteins and OME’s are the better way to go. I ran the bilsteins and OME’s on my Tacoma and liked them, but I don’t want to spend a whole lot if I can help it. From what I understand, spacers are cheaper, but how do they affect ride quality? I like the way the stock suspension rides and don’t want to compromise that. Any kind of advice or guidance would be appreciated being the newbie that I am.

Buy a 1/2" top spacer for the front. Gives about 1" lift up front to level. I did that to my 2005 v8. Worked perfect. I happen to have a set for sale after I endeed up lifting the whole truck more. DM me if you want them.

Not able to DM for some reason. Probably operator error on my end.

You'll need like 5-10 posts in order to send a DM. Its just there to make sure people are legit before they're able to DM people. A good way to get post count up is to post pics of your rig and projects in their respective threads, or help someone else out with an issue that you've solved before.
