Satin Black 4Runner
This is my first post to the forum. When I bought my 2003 4Runner back in 2009 it was silver and had a very poor paint job. Needless to say I got a very good deal on it. Well after two Utah winters the paint on the hood started pealing exposing bare metal which started to rust. It was time for a new paint job.
Well here is the new paint job. Satin Black paint all over done by Tracy Schmidt at Schmidt Body and Paint in Salt Lake City. I need to get some better pictures, and I really need to get a lift. What do you think?
**EDIT**
Rims: XD Addict 18"x9"
Tires: Yokohama Geolander AT/S 275/60R18
Here are some better pictures that I just took.

Reason: Better pictures and details on rims and tires.

It looks great. Is it hard to keep clean? Can it be waxed, cause I know BMW's flat black not supose to. Sharper pics will do better justice.

Looks tough! Definitely would look even tougher with a lift. I like the originality (first 4th gen I've seen with a flat black paint job). What kind of headlights do you have?
Just a thought: I think it needs just a bit of color; I think it would look sick if you painted the grill a flat red (keeping the emblem black), and maybe the center/lower section of the bumper as well.

It is actually easier to keep clean than I would have thought. I haven't dared to take it through a car wash, and never will. Hand washing does the trick. The paint is very durable, but you don't want to get any wax on it. Once it is clean you can use Pledge on it and it gives is a soft glow. I'm very happy with it. I'll get some better pictures soon.
I live in Texas now and it is crazy how many people make compliments about it. I never thought it would attract as much attention as it does down here.

The headlights are LED Halo projectors that you can find on eBay.

I was just gonna ask that!
I looks great. I was looking at doing something similar, but a vinyl wrap instead, giving it the same look but I can peel it off it i decide I dont like it.
Really looking forward to sharper/daylight pics!

I think it looks great too. We defiantly need more and sharper pictures though. I like how you did with the wheels having a little silver still on them.

Serously awesome, wakedude. I love satin painted cars. BMW painted a few 3 series and jack up the price.
I too wonder how someone protects (not wax) flat paint.

Mine came from a dealer auction with some paint damage, had it repainted black, they did a pretty good job and I wasn't really after a show-finish. I figured I'd have to paint it again some day, and you've got me thinking. How about those daylight shots?

I think it looks awesome, but I'm a big fan of the matte black look already.
