Beter audio for new (nearly) 4Runner

New to the Forum so hello all and best for the Holidays.

After a lengthy period of researching 4Runners to decide which used vehicle to look for I decided on the 2006 ~ 2008 years. Wanted the V8 for towing and looking for low miles.

I was really happy to find a 2008 SR5 V8 with less than 21K miles and pretty much mint inside and out. (bought from a dealer but able to figure out previous owner and spoke with them) Essentially a new car by my standards. (We have a '95 Previa LE SC with almost 300K miles so we tend to hang on to our vehicles).

I would like to put a decent stereo in this 4Runner with GPS to replace the single CD player head unit that came with it. (I don't think that there is even a separate amplifier.) I am open to replacing the HU, adding an amp and possibly the front and rear speakers. Not looking to install a sub, just looking for really good sound utilizing the existing cavities while gaining GPS, Bluetooth and such.

Thanks for any suggestions, Jon

I'm willing to spent a couple grand and do the work. I'll be in this rig for a lot of years so good quality sound is worth the investment. volume is not a priority, quality of the decibels is.

By the way, what a great rig. I really like this thing.
