Bought a load of stuff for my kids and family. But I have been thinking about some new rims for my runner. I always read on this forum about how FJ owners are always throwing mods on their trucks with wheels so their original rims are always up for sale.
Well, I just happened to be at my local grocery store last week and I parked next to a totally tricked out FJ. I told my son how I wanted new rims and that if I ran into the owner of the FJ I would ask about his original OEM rims.
So we got out the truck and sure enough the guy was walking up to his FJ. I asked about his OEM rims and he told me that he took them off the truck the day he bought them. Not only that but he had them in his garage at home and was thinking about selling them on Craigslist.
The long and short of it is that he lived close to me and I bought all five rims from him for 250 bucks. They look brand new because they are brand new.
They are my Christmas present to myself. Not sure yet if I will get some snow tires and pull a switch which means put the summer tires on the new rims and snow tires on my original OEMs or just put my year round tires on the new rims. It's just nice to know that they are sitting in my garage in boxes waiting for me to make a decision.

I got my 2004 4 Runner! I got it earlier this month....but guys, tell me. Since it was my gift, is it wrong to expect something under the tree to open too??? Cause, I don't see anything under there with my name on it yet...
