Lifted Finally
I've been pretty much lurking around the two main T4R boards for awile now. I've been collecting parts here and there to lift my 4Runner. Most of my extra funds goto my 73 FJ40 that I usually use for 4wheeling and occasionly around town for fun.
On to the lift.....
Front-Bilstein 5100 struts on the highest setting, stock V8 coils
33.5" from ground to fender before lift, 36.75" after, net 3.25"
Rear- Toytec SuperFlex coils and Edlebrock shocks(for an 80 series)
35.5" from ground to fender before lift, 38.25" after, net 2.75"
The 4runner has 110k miles on it and the suspension was still stock. The measurements were taken with FJ Cruiser wheels on super low tread 265/70 Terra Grapplers. I'm very pleased with the new ride.
I'm getting 285/70/17 Hankook RT03 Mud Terrains installed this week. I've also got Hanna Quality sliders. I'll post up some photos soon.

Looks sweet! What kind of gas mileage do you get?

No clue on the mpgs after lift, I've had it on for about 150 miles. After a 100 miles yesterday at about 74mph, the computer said 19.4.

Really? I have 3.25" in the front and yours looks more like 2.75". My superflex coils gave me 2.5" after lift and settled to 2.25". How did you get 2.75"? I like it but you definitely didnt get that much lift from just 5100's. Are you gonna run spacers for the 285's?

Ok I went out to remeasure and it looks like the front did drop a bit after first measure. I'm right at 3" in front and the rear looks about the same. The struts I bought were for an 05+ Tacoma, they were used with 4k. The rear coils were bought used with less than 5k miles. No spacers with the 285 b/c of the FJ Cruiser wheels

So the FJ wheels let you run 285's w/ no spacer? Any upper control arm swap done?
I'm dying to run 285's and have the same Bilstein adjustable shocks. I'm on the second setting...I think LOL. I haven't done enough reading to see what I have to do to run 285's, but though I needed an UCA swap?

Nope. Depends on the size lift and the tires your running. I've got 3.25" of lift and 285 destination at's with stock UCA's and no problems.

How are you liking those edelbrock rear shocks? Those are really the best bang for the buck pricewise.

Are those FJ wheels the same size as stock SR5 wheels or are they wider?

The shocks seem allright, I bought them on closeout for like $36 shipped for the pair. I'm sure there are better ones out there.
The FJ Cruiser wheels are the same width just a different offset.
I'm loving my Hankook RT03 Mud Terrains. I had a set on my previous 80 series Land Cruiser. Pretty darn quiet for an MT. I'll have to get some pix.
