Drivers seat height too high? Is it just my imagination?

I'm just 5ft 10 in, but I find I'm sitting too high in my truck even though the seat is cranked all the way down as far as I can get it to go.

The space between my head and the roof liner is barely 2 inches. I can clearly see that the seat cushion is higher than the passenger side.

What am I doing wrong? The seating position just feels too weird. Could it be broken? It goes up without any issue and tilts backward and forwards as well. The lumbar support also works fine.

Nope. Just a high floor and low ceiling on these rigs.

What I don't get is why the driver's seat cushion is higher than the passenger seat cushion.

changing your seating position (the seat back) will give you more head room...i know you may be comfortable in a certain position but im just throwing it out there.

No, the seating position is too LOW and there is not enough headroom due to the exterior body design of the 4R.

Having a sunroof sacrificies a few inches of head room. You can tell above the rear seats where the sunroof assembly ends

I am not tall by any means and I have felt the same. I think the dash is too tall for my short body so I have the seat up. I have always thought the seat is offset to the right of the dash.

I think the seating position is too high. I keep the front part of the seat low but the rear lowers way more than front so i raise that up to almost level. At that point I am looking out the top part of the windshield which i dont prefer. I special ordered for no sunroof to be sure to get the last inch or two of headroom. I also do not like to lay the seat back back to far, so cannot gain anything that way.

Sounds like this is normal. I got a a buudy that would love to buy a 4Runner like mine but he is 6'2" and cannot fit in the seat with out being in a fetal like position. Toyota really screwed up here.
