I get the diagrams from the service manual and use Adobe Illustrator to splice the pages together into a single image.

I also spliced the grounds together under the steering cover like in JA's write up.
With this my results are:
When the ignition is on my fogs work according to the switch. They also work with the high beams. Also whenever the auto lights are on after the ignition is off the fogs stay on with the headlights just like the normally would and go off after the 30sec or 2 presses of the lock on the remote.
I finally made it out to the electronic store and bought two diodes (100 V, 1 Amp) to connect like this as well. Instead of soldering, I used heat shrink tubing to keep the diode connected to the 16 guage wire. I made jumper wires with spade connectors to all the pins of the relay.

I like having the fogs stay on with the headlights after turning off the ignition. That's one thing I missed not having before.

I just did this mod and it seems my fog light fuse will blow each time I swap it out. The weird part is that the fog lights will work about the first 5 times I switch them on, but the fuse will blow after that, and this happens to me every time I swap out the fuse. Any ideas on what's wrong?
I disconnected both fog lights and turned on the switch, the fuse was fine. Then I tested the switch with both lights, individually, and it was fine again. It seems as though it's just a "time bomb" haha is anyone else having this problem, or know of any solutions?

If you followed J.A.'s write-up, then it should be the IG fuse, not the fog light fuse, that's blowing since you're getting power from a different source. Did you just miss type the fuse name?

This won't tell you anything. You have an open circuit so no current is flowing, thus the fuse should not have blown.

Now, if you put a jumper wire in the light connections to close the circuit, that would test the circuit - BUT I WOULD NOT DO THAT - you are essentially shorting out the circuit to ground. I'm not an electrical expert, but you could do more damage.

I bent the pin on the fog RELAY and connected it to the ig FUSE and now my fog light FUSE is blowing.

I disconnected the fog lights then turned on the fog light switch to give me any indication if there was a short in the wiring, which there was wasnt

Hi, need some help if you guys can...

I plan to do Part#2 of the mod, as I will be going HID in the fogs soon.

But I also want to wire in a FJ fog switch too, so I can control all fog on/off from that switch (which will go in the center console).

If I jumper wires #17 and 16 together to override High beam control of fogs, can I wire the FJ Switch inline on wire #17 to circumvent the OEM control stalk switch?

Thanks !

Greydog, If you want to bypass the factory switch & add in a different one, I think what you want to do is connect the green/red wire coming from the relay (the one that goes to position 10 on the combination switch) through the FJ switch to ground.

Almost had it

Had my jumper wire ready, dash apart and when I went to access the back of my fuse box there was an extra bolt in the upper top left side that wasnt in the picutre keeping me from the back side and I had to bail on the operation. I have an 07 Limited V8 4WD. Our trucks are identical with the exception of my trim.

The fuse box in the engine compartment is the one you use for the relay bypass wire for Part #1. Is that what you were shooting for?

I did this a while ago, and didn't do something right, got too lazy to fix. My foglights are my drl, and come on when the car turns on, as soon as I turn lights on, fogs turn off. I have no control of them with the switch

I have this problem too. They only work if I GROUND that pin and it's really annoying and confusing and I have NO idea what's wrong and I can't reverse it. @J.A. any ideas?
