Bumper questions

So two questions. Has anyone made there own "shrockworks" type bumper? And what happens to the inner fender when u install a "shrockworks" type bumper, do u remove them or do u trim them down to clear the bumper? Pictures? Im thinking of possibly making my own, any input would be great.
Thanks

Trim them down, and yes it's been done before. If you have the abilities - you might as well.

Ya I have access to all the best equipment, but I'm unsure of a design. Thanks for your input.

There have been a couple of guys that I can remember that built their own plate bumpers recently:

Chief's 07 sport 4RUNNER buildup thread!

CGuava's Mild Runner Build

For shrockworks specifically, I just cut the bottom "cup" part and folded the rest of the fender liner in the bottom guard. For other bumpers such as Demello's that don't have the bottom plate, you can either trim it to follow the lines of the bottom of the bumper or remove it all together.

Since you're building it yourself, I would design it so you can tuck it in. I can take pics if you want tomorrow.

So do they use the factory mounts at all? Did u have to drill those two bolt holes on the side or are those pre exciting?

Yeah, all the mounts use the existing bolts. no drilling involved where the mount plate is concerned.
