This is excellent news from DT. Gonna need to get them. CONSTANT ticking been goin' on for several years now.
Now, anyone have thoughts on what Cats to use? Maybe integrate with a URD Y-pipe? Any thoughts?

I called them today. They officially receive the headers back from ceramic coating on the 16th.

They also informed me the headers will have a bung so it should not throw any codes.

I will follow up with them next week so we can figure out a day and time to get them installed on my truck. I will make sure to give you guys feedback and potentially a sound clip once installed.

I'm curious to see what exactly is needed and what will work.

it says straight bolt on but that cant be possible with the need to buy aftermarket cats, from the diagram it looks like the stock cats are one solid piece with the stock header, so they can't be reused correct?

do cats come in standard sizes? I just did a quick search and Jegs seems to have 13" and 16"

I'm not very familiar with swapping out exhaust. Is the bung the port the oxygen sensor goes into?

Leave the cats off. There are still two on the y-pipe, more than enough. Personally I'm getting rid of ALL my cats, but I live in Michigan and we don't have inspections here. lol

Thanks. I'm curious as to the way they will install. Look forward to seeing it.

Since we have 4 cats and the o2 sensors are located in between the two sets of cats, if you remove the upstream cats (the ones closest to the motor) then that would probably throw off your readings at the o2 sensor and probably cause a CEL. because the computer will think your cats are faulty.

I don't know, I'm glad someone is already getting this work done so they can answer all of our questions, I don't need this upgrade at the moment but someone I know does so I'm just trying to figure it out for them.

I'm no expert but if you remove the first set of cats that are on the manifolds, could you not relocate the o2 sensor downstream of the second set of cats and the computer would be none the wiser?

That's a good question Red - I'm also very curious about this.

Sadly I'm considering selling my 4Runner due to our changing family needs, but my OCD won't allow me to half a$$ anything before I do, so I would need a way for it to still pass smog.

That was me....drooling over these....;)

Will the ceramic coating be ruined if you add a bung dedicated for a wideband sensor? I figure it would be easier to do this prior to install.

I'm in VA so emissions are a concern and thus am curious about the CAT's as well.

I spoke with DT and they had a delay with the ceramic coating on the headers. They have yet to receive them and should get them soon. I hope the next time I contact them, we will be able to set something up and I get these boys on my truck.

Thanks for the update and for taking the lead on this.

I really hope there is a way to still pass smog with this.

Side question: I keep reading about people having their cats stolen due to the precious metals that OEM cats contain. Do you all think one could actually collect money for cracked OEM headers w the cats?

All they want is the cat, but yes you can. Just cut it off and take to salvage yard. Some are worth a good bit of money
