Hey guys, this got be inspired to work on this again Previously I wired up the sunroof and homelink and did not finish the ambient and door circuit. Cookie pinged me soI wired up the ambient and door circuit on the console side and ran the wiring down the a pillar today.
Here is a pic of it with the ambient lights on.
picture quality sucks because I took it in the dark. If I took it during the day, you wouldn't see the LEDs
I'll try and wire up the "car" side of the harness tomorrow. Cookie, I'll share when I finish the job.

Anyone have a part number for the two metal v-clips that go over the two front tabs of the overhead console? I somehow lost them fixing the map lights, and my temporary solution of using two generic clips from Ace Hardware is failing me every time the damn console is jarred loose.
Searched the forum but can't find any meaningful info. Much appreciated in advance.

I searched too out of curiosity but couldn't find anything. I think the best bet you have is to find one on ebay and switch the clips off of that one onto yours.
A/V1 & Honda_Nos: What wires (color) on the O/H of the Lexus console did you use to get the mic to work? Thanks!

How are you pulling down this roof console?
Is it held in place by velcro, screws and clips? I tried to pull mine and it wouldn't even move.

Dig your fingers toward the front of the console (side facing rearward) and roof, pull downward gently. It will come off. Just clips.
See 3 clips in picture:

It is interesting that they chose to not give us the option of having the map lights on a toggle with the doors. Or did it come standard on the Limited? I'd like to do it on my '05, but that Lexus console is ugly. I wonder if the sunglass doors are swappable?
They had that as an option on a lot of trucks/4runners in the 80's and 90's. I put it in my '93 pickup since it wasn't an SR5.

Curious about this. How difficult is it to go from the lexus mic to a 3.5mm jack that will work with my head unit? Can a professional amateur do it and end up with a quality sounding mic?
I would like to pull the trigger on one of these but only if I can the mic to work without too much grief.
