Bilsteins cupping tires when replacing XREAS?

Hello,

Has anyone had any problems replacing XREAS shocks with Bilstein HDs?

'03 Limited V8, stock height, OEM wheels. The fronts tires are cupping after only 5K. Three mechanics have been stumped. Bilstein said that their "may" be other XREAS specific components that need to be replaced but I can't find a definitive answer.

Thanks for your help!

Cupping of tires is usually caused by worn shocks.

Bilstein makes high quality shocks...I seriously doubt it's them.

Are the 5100 brand new? Did you have it aligned after installing it? Cupping is normally from alignment correct? So my guess that's the culprit

Cupping is not likely alignment. Inside edge wear would be more indicitive of alignment. Cupping is typically worn shocks and/or infrequent rotations. Tires only have 5k on them, so I would lean towards the shocks.

So I'll second the previous question of how old are the shocks?
