I had the exact problem OP had. Not the full rumble strip of the main transmission thread. Did a full fluid swap at the dealer with WS fluid and it was back in 10k miles. Did a single drain n fill with Maxlife and 5oz Lubeguard Red and it’s gone. Gonna let the Lubeguard and Maxlife clean up the crusties in the transmission for about 15k, then when it’s at 200k do a full swap again with Lubeguard Red and Maxlife.

Question

I am having this same issue with my 09 sport.Only during a slow a celeration between 20-30 mph the whole vehicle stutters -feels just like washboard - and the stutter is especially pronounced when I drive uphill.

Problem does not occure in rapid acceleration or other speeds.

I had not noticed this at all until the day after a big rain and we were driving through a bunch of deep water, (sometimes at speed ) At no time during the drive did I feel / hear anything terrible happen, but starting the day after, this vibration is now a daily occurrence.

The vibration only lasts a few seconds and then stops. I will be trying to use my GoPro to film the suspension / engine bay components to see if i can determine what might be causing the problem.

Anyone else have any ideas?

What you describe sounds exactly like torque converter shudder and is usually solved by doing a complete transmission fluid flush and most also add the additive Instant Shudder Fixx which can be found at most auto part stores.

Instant Shudder Fixx - Lubegard

Do a separate 4th Gens forum search for all of these phrases/words...Shudder....rumble strip....transmission fluid flush....Shudder Fixx... for more details.

Did you ever get this problem resolved? I’m having the same issue in 2008 sport edition. Started happening after the 4wd binded up.

I have this same problem. Shakes/shudder when I hit about 1900 rpm going around 30 mph. Does it more if I'm on an incline. Does not do it if I step into the throttle a bit more or accelerate quickly. I've searched this forum, others, youtube, etc. I've concluded that it's a common problem with the torque converter and not much you can do other than replacing torque converter. Many have suggested using shudder fix. General thoughts seem to be that it's annoying but not detrimental and no need to spend the money.

Mine didn't go away entirely. I can still fill it a little bit. Not sure which solution made the difference. I still have anti shudder additive in my toolbox, never used it.
