is leaking CV boot part of powertrain warranty

I was just going through powertrain warranty details for 2007 4runner it says
for front wheel drive system the parts covered are
final drive housing and all internal parts, axle shafts, drive shafts,CV joints, front hub, bearings, seals and gaskets..

now my 4runner is still under powertrain warrannty and like at 44K miles dealership recomended that CV boots should be changed as these are leaking grease and i got all 4 CV boots replaced and charge was around 800$...should this be under warranty? and should i go back to dealer ship and ask them for refund?

at this point since you've already paid, you'll need to submit a claim to the warranty co. Is it a Toyota warranty or 3rd party?

it is toyota powertrain warranty which is 60k miles or 5 years.so you think that leaking CV boot should be covered under warranty?

Power train usually referrs to any internally lubricated part. Mine has the Toyota cpo warranty, and I remember reading that disclosure. I'm sure it can be found on the Toyota owners site, or a quick message to Toyota can give you a definite answer..
But to me the cv boot would be a seal, so I would think it was covered.

I had an aftermarket warranty that did not cover the leaky book. It said the same thing yours says "CV joint" but that literally means just the axle, such as if a malfunction would occur. I believe mine specifically said CV boots weren't covered. I don't remember now.

I had all of my boots replaced under CPO warranty and it wasn't too bad, something like $100-$200. I would definitely go talk to them.

yes cv boots are covered its part of the shaft which is part of the drivetrain....plus when they refused to fix it under warranty you should of told them ok ill just keep driving until all the grease leaks out and the cv joints fail then you can put in new shafts which would cost them more....

The bearings should be covered since they are inside the axle housing. Not too sure about the steering assembly, since that's technically not part of the powertrain.
