Good deal on timing belt and water pump replacement?
So my rig just turned 90k miles. I went to my local dealership to get an estimate...$869 for timing belt and $329 for water pump... however they are having a special through the end of May: $669 for both. I made the appointment. so is it a good deal?

$669 for both at a dealership seems like a pretty good deal.
I think I paid around $750 for mine and from what I read, that's about the average. I saw a few posts where guys were quoted prices like your pre-sale prices. That seems one the high end to me.

I did mine myself with a 30 dollar haynes manual, 300 dollar next day aired timingbelt kit (new Tbelt, new Dbelt, new idler, auto tensioner, tensioner pully, water pump, crank seal, cam seal, and water pump with gaskets) then 50 bucks worth of antifreeze. So 380 for a DIY makes 670 by a dealer look like a fair deal. make sure there replacing your autotensioner, tensioner pully, and idler pully, they've been through the same extreme conditions as your belt! and a water pump obviously while your in there, i wouldnt worry about the cam or crank seals though thats one of those things its better to drive it till it leaks, add some stop leak and drive it a little more lol only my opinions

I would make sure they did the V-belt, cam seal, crank seals, thermostat and gasket and if you have towed with it you should probably change the pulleys too.
I just did all of this for about $900 in Los Angeles

The VVTi costs that much---he doesn't have a VVTi engine in his 03. Unfortunately I do and didn't do the CAM seals for that reason. I did the crank though.
(Please correct me if this wrong---this is what the service Mgr told me, he also showed me the manual on his computer discussing VVTi engines and the difference in replacing the seals on VVTi's) They told me to wait until next TB/WP replacement

that clears it up a little i wonder if the service tech at the dealer just assumbed that i had a vvti lol there so anoyingly ignorant sometimes it frustrates me that people can be employed to a position where there knowledge is usless. no offense to any toy techs out there im not saying all of them are bad

$669 is a steal. I would jump on that. Dealers in the DC area are getting about $1200 for the same job. Just make sure that they are not going to try to add in other costs (coolant, fasteners, etc). I did mine and I think I spent about $300 for dealer parts. I would have gladly paid someone $370 for labor. I have replaced many timing belts and I will say that this one was the most time consuming. There is so much that you have to take off and has to go back in the same order that makes it a challenge.

Thanks for the info guys. Like I said, this special is good until the end of May. If anyone wants the dealer info (located in North Jersey) shoot me a PM and I'll give you the name.

If you are looking for aftermarket parts, the kit that aha posted is very good. It contains all the parts you will need (and more). For Toyota parts you will have to get all the parts separate. Concelli has about the lowest price on dealer parts. You have to pay shipping, but unless you are in PA, you don't have to pay sales tax. My parts were close to $300, but that was only for the pump, belt, and new tensioner. I didn't replace the pulleys, or the seals, and went with an after market serpentine belt. I should have replaced the thermostat at the time, but that is another story. The same parts as the kit from the dealer will run you about $500 if you buy online. Your local dealer will probably run it up to about $700 for all the parts. Your final price is really up to you in what you want to replace when you have it a part. I felt comfortable skipping the seals and the pulleys because there is no reputation of failure of those parts on the 4.7. I felt comfortable with just the belt, pump, and tensioner.
