Annoying sound !!

Why does it sound like there’s a styrofoam cooler squeaking from under my cargo area ?!?!
I’ve lubed everything under there that has a joint or connection , spare tire is tight so I’m at a loss . All I know is it’s annoying AF

Exhaust hangers maybe? They're notoriously a source of squeaking sounds.

There is styrofoam under the rear bumper cover, between it and the steel bumper-like cross member, at least there is on my 4th gen. To access it you have to remove the bumper cover, which really isn't difficult.

If you could elaborate a bit more I can give it that a try. But it truly sounds like it’s from under the cargo area .

There is 4Runner-foam under the cargo area (more/less depending on model). Sound deadening/insulation. It will likely make the noise you hear and change depending on temp and humidity. It's usually not an issue.

Possibilities. Latch squeaks on the catch loop when body flexes over rough road. Catch loop may be corroded from wear. Simply remove and reverse sides to present clean side to latch. Could also be worn gas lift struts that are not applying tension to the latch and catch which would reduce play.
