Highway comfort & touring mods. Please chime in.

I've come to realize that me driving >75miles/day is taking it toll on my 4runner.

I usually keep up with traffic 70-80 MPH.

There are segments of the highway that have grade changes from 6" to 12" over just a foot or two distance, where the truck kind of "bounces." (its the spots in the highway where you can see people drip oil due to the "bounce")

Can you please give me tips on plushing out my sports suspension and increasing travel.

Plans so far:

Scrap X-reas
Shocks with an inch lift Bilstein _5100? _ anything better than 5100's?

I'm not sure that 5100's will add to the "plushness" of your ride. But the will definately take those bumps better. When I installed my 5100's it was obvious that may ride was more firm, absolute improvement. But after a week I got used to it. Now I barely notice the ride being different... untill I hit some bumps. These things absorb bumps in the road very well.

I have the 5100's on my -5 4runner....and my round trip commute is a little over 80 miles.

I find the ride very comfortable. Don't have an issue at all.

Another thing to consider is the tires. A high-way tire may be more to your liking. I've had the Cooper Discovery H/T. EXCELLENT tires. Great ride. Decent in snow...but if you live in an area that gets a lot of snow or you drive off-road...then you'll want something more aggressive.

Awesome those tips help.

I am going to be looking for something a little bigger in terms of tires.

The travel on the current XREAS system is pitiful esp in the front.

95% concrete highways
4.99% Asphalt
0.01% Offroad

No Snow, just HOT, HOTTER & HUMID with Rain.
