You could say I'm a traitor. I'm in a 2013 JK Rubicon 2 Door on 37s. Bought it off my uncle when he decided he wanted a truck. I've brought it up to Uwharrie twice since I got it, but haven't been since last August now.

Didn't really even plan on making the switch, but he just offered me it one day with a price I couldn't refuse so I put the 4runner up for sale.

Finally getting the itch to start making it my own. Gonna swap out the wheels for something wider with the 13.5" tires on there and swap out the bumpers for something less bulky than RanchHands

Hey man, it's whatever. To each their own really. I got love for all kind of dope cars regardless of make or model. Brand loyalty is such a funny and tribal thing. Hell I recently just sold my Subaru, only car I've ever bought brand new, for a high miles Ford pickup. No regrets. The Ford requires a bit more attention than the Toyota, but I knew what I was getting in to. As long as you're happy. If you tried to embed a picture, it didn't come through.

Weird the image didn't go through, shows up for me. But yeah I love it so far lotta fun driving a 6 speed. Definitely don't follow the brand loyalty ideology either. Anyways here's the photo with an imgur link https://i.imgur.com/CQU2jtB.jpg

Nice man! I think the link didn't work because it was asking me to log into the forum it was on. Are those KM2's or 3's? After wheeling the KM3's in the soupy mud this past weekend, I'm convinced these are hands down the best tires I've ever owned. Absolutely amazing and except for price, I've seen zero downside to them. I've got some Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the other truck which are nice, but those KM's man...

Those are KM2s planning on going to either the KM3s or STT Pros when these wear out. Loved the STT Pros on my 4runner but I've been hearing a lot of great things about the KM3s which kinda has me leaning that way.

Been debating STT Pros vs KM3 for my next tire too.

My twin brother has the STT Pros on his FJ so I will probably get the KM3. They both are pretty excellent.

Fj case swap wiring

Wiring was super simple the gauge cluster pulls power from the fuse box under the steering wheel. The center diff lock light, 4lo and 4wd have signal wires that come from the gauge to the 4wd ECU. A Haynes manual spells this out extremely clear in one of the rear schematics.

I will be removing wire from the necessary materials list as I didnt have to use any of my own. I chose to make a 4" jumper lead off the sensors but it wasnt required.

The wires that plug into the originial tcase actuator assy, lead back into the 4wd computer as well. So once you unplug the computer you now have wires that run back to the transfer case from inside the cab. I just chose two colors I knew weren't already grounded somewhere (multi meter magic) and cut them from the connector. I used yellow and the blue w/ red strip. the 4wd ECU is screwed to the bottom kick plate under the glove box. just remove the glove box and the one screw holding the kick plate them your there.
Attachment 216370

On the Other connector. Brown w/ white stripe is 4lo signal to gauge and green with red stripe is the center diff lock actuator, in this case my 4wd indicator.

Attachment 216371

4lo sensor is front driver side, 4wd sensor is passenger side. then just run the other lead not used from the sensor to a ground.

the connector:

Attachment 216372
Attachment 216373

After getting that all buttoned back up I moved on to sealing the hole. Ordered a piece of 1/8th rubber online and cut to fit. I used hollow punches to create the holes for the bolts.

Attachment 216374

eyeballed where to put rivet holes and started drilling

Attachment 216377

then just put the rivets in

Attachment 216379
Attachment 216380

Onto the next task
Sorry to resurrect a long dead thread, but I just got around to doing my swap using this info. Thank you by the way. I was wondering if you lose the atrac by unplugging the 4wd ecu. If so, I think I have the wiring to keep 4wd ecu plugged in and trick it into thinking the actuator is still there.

Glad the thread is still helping people.
I don't believe you lose the atrac by removing the 4wd computer. that computer module is for controlling the actuators and locking out those motors if the shifter isn't in the correct position. Atrac is ran from a different computer and monitors Yaw and Pitch Sensors on top of wheel speed sensor feed back to send braking force to individual wheels spinning or cut the throttle because of lost traction.

I was disabling my Atrac manually when off-roading by pulling a fuse or relay can't remember but when daily driving I would just reset the system and it would work fine again.

on a new side X Side note I got a new off road toy!
