Dead bearing sound from front of engine.

Hey guys,
I don't think it's the Alternator, the sound seems to be coming from the water pump/idler pulley side and increases with throttle. What is the most common thing to go? And is it a pain in the *** replace? The truck has 130,000 miles.
Thanks!!

You've got to figure out what it is first. Over 130k miles is about right for drive belt tensioner and idler pulley bearings to go. You can get replacement bearings for them and they are easy to replace.

If it hasn't been done you also need to replace the timing belt and the idler and tensioner bearings. Also, the general consensuses on this board is that while you are in there replacing the timing belt to also replace the water pump. Not really all that hard but it is time consuming. It's a 4-5 hour job.
