check ebay

I saw one of the combo fobs/keys like Mazda uses on ebay while looking for remotes for my recently acquired 2007. About $83 I believe.

Are you refering to the wireless remote being built into the key? I suppose you could find a way to program the key to a 4Runner... but I don't think you'd be able to get the rear window function to work. Though honestly, I have never tried...

What does the JDM version look like?

Not 100% if this is what you're looking for but I bought a switchblade key on eBay for $60, got it cut at a local hardware shop for $1.75, programmed at the stealership for free, and programmed the remote myself.

It worked very well but unfortunately someone stole it

It didn't have the panic function (red button on the back) but it did roll down the rear window. It had a picture of a truck I believe, but the trunk button worked to roll down the window. It was nice, and heavy, not cheap looking. I believe it was mostly metal.

The one I had was purchased from a member named mykeyless I believe.

Switchblade Remote
SHUT UP OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS!?

that thing looks awesome!!!! only thing is... when i go on their "compatibility selector" and put in my truck's info (05 sr5), i get a warning that its not compatible

but that would be way better! that's exactly what i'm looking for. wondering if something like that works, why wouldn't something like this work?

Sorry! I posted it without checking the year.

The one I got was this one - switchblade remote
It is compatible with '03-09s.

I checked on one like you posted, but only found it for '10+ 4Runners.

Well I think I'm gonna have to bite bullet on something like this. A little pricey but it looks way awesome and I loved that style with my Audi.

My friends highlander has this and it's like an 05 iirc. Is that factory option on those?

Been using mine for about 2 months now and have no issues. The dealer cut it for free. The back window button works perfectly. The only feature that doesn't is the small silver alarm button on the back that I've never used. I programmed it to function just like all the other keys following the "open/close door method" discussed here about reprogramming keys.

I love this thing. The 2 factory parts of the key and the remote were both HUGE!!! I bought mine from ebay for $60 shipped and it cost me nothing to cut and program.

I have a 2007 & bought mine from this same seller. You do have to hold it close to the top part of the casing so it doesn't torque the key too hard and break the case. I haven't broken mine, but can tell that it can happen if you torque too hard and hold too low when turning the ignition

How'd you get yours for $60?

And can you share a pic of the other side of the remote? Totally ready to pull the trigger!

Search on ebay using the fccid # on the back of your current remote. The code on the mykeyless listing on ebay will say 044 033 this is for the 4 button remote for our trucks---044 without the 033 is a 3 button---that's the only difference---I saved the $13 from $72.95 to $60 between the 2 listings because I used the internals from my original yota remote and just put the keyless fob board from my original in this casing.

Mykeyless uses the same originals in their remotes---the only difference is whether you need the rear trunk/window button. I could have made a tab to work in the internals of the mykeyless remote to make the panic button work but decided I didn't really care about it so I just put the original in it and that's it.

If you don't ahve the original or want to keep it original and not open it up and swap it for the mykeyless 3 button one then just spend the $72.95 and get their 4 button. My dealer was really impressed by it and wished he could sell them. He cut the key and walked out with me to see me program it and start the truck and was blown away that it worked. I'm not sure if a transponder is inside but it has worked for a couple months and never stalled or had an issue or shown a VSC or check engine light on mine even one time.

EDIT: I just checked ebay and they seem to have gone up a bit. I would keep checking for a few days. I bought mine 2 months ago for $60 with free shipping and the 4 button internal one was $72.95 with free shipping. LOL---We must have talked about it too much on here. My keyless on ebay is a reseller for ikeyless.com It's $99 on there and is the exact same remote.
