Don't go to the stealership! You can easily have an exhaust shop replace them for a few hundred bucks! My flowmaster ones on my Cat back set up are about 200 a piece

exactly you can find aftermarket universal high flow cats for 1/3 of what the dealer is trying to charge you.

It won't likely fix the rotten egg smell. Mine came factory new with it. Like many people did, I got the warranty replacement of the exhaust system. Helped only a little bit.

First you have to determine if it actually is the Catalytic converters.

A bad O2 sensor is another culprit. When a cat goes bad the O2 sensor detects this and sends a signal to the ecu with the Oxygen readings from the cat. But if the O2 sensor is bad...the same thing happens.

MANY times mechanics have replaced cats only to find out it was the O2 sensor. A good mechanic (also honest) will run further tests to determine if it's the cats or just a faulty O2 sensor.

And if it is a Cat...do what others have said...take it to a good independent that can do exhaust. Far cheaper then the dealer. Stay away from the exhaust chain stores. They're a rip-off

Ugg.
Smell is not an indicator of a bad cat. Can we please sticky that in BOLD letters????

Whether it is clogged, I don't know; but the "rotten" egg smell is not an indicator of a failed cat. It is the exact opposite. It means it is working.

I had a code indicating failed 02 sensors (which could be a bad cat). A toyota specialty shop cleaned the cat by heating it up and blowing the fine residue out the exhaust. The CEL has not come on since and they did this for free. Sweet deal!

So glad that mine went under warranty, I had to have all 3 replaced, the bill that I would have paid was right around 3 grand too. I would definitely look into getting some universal replacements or some aftermarket oem replacements and have an exhaust shop do the work
