Interior Lights Upgrade - Suggestions???

Hey! So my '04 T4R has stock lighting in it. Nothing's wrong with them, just don't like the color / quality. I've been searching around on the forum and found a lot of similar posts but nothing is all in one place. Need a little help, answer what you can! Thanks!

1. Want new interior lights (don't want them to look "blueish" though if you know what I mean, love for them to be as close to white as possible)

2. How to remove the old and replace with the new.

3. Hate the color of the backlight on dash. Don't have any soldering experience though. Is there a way to change them out without that?

4. Any tips or suggestions you may have!!

I buy pretty much everything on Amazon (hard to argue with discounted prices and free 2-day shipping! haha). If you find something specific on there adn just tell me how many to order that would be AWESOME! If not, no biggie. I can search myself.

These are the ones I've had my eye on. Is it what I need? Or am I totally off base?

(Dome Bulbs) - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=A82XG4DR30PH7

Once again, THANKS!

Talk to user emelianenkov about changing the color of you gauges. He actually has done a few other members and all the swaps look pretty good. Check out his thread here: Post Your LED Gauge Swaps Here. He is also a sponsor and runs T4RGaugeSwaps.com

As for interior lights, LED swaps seems to be the way to go and they sound pretty much plug and play so no real hassle there. Good luck.

LED Bulbs for the interior is the way to go, I went with a cool white which is mostly pure white, not much blue, but looks so much better than stock.

This guy made a whole experiment write up about every interior light on the truck should answer every question you have and allow you to source your own parts through amazon for way less money. I did doors, domes, & maps, for under 25 bucks sourcing lights through amazon. you'll find partnumber refrences in this link aswell as many other modifcations available you might be interested in with similar writeups just scroll through the left side of the page to look at his other write ups.
Toyota 4Runner Interior 6k LED Lighting Conversion

These are what I used for the Domes:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o05_s00_i00
there 36 count led boards they come as a universal kit and the original link i sent you explains how to install them

These are what i used for the Maps and doors as i wanted to direct the light down and out, not around in the housing IMO
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002JSFH3G/..._M2T1_ST1_dp_1

to do the doors it takes 4 of the wedge stile 4 led bulbs (the second amazon link)
to do the map lights it takes 2 of the wedge style 4 led bulbs (" ")
for the domes it depends if you have the JBL audio system with the dual light center dome you'll need 2 of the 36 count led boards for the center dome and one 36 count leb board for the rear. If you dont have the JBL audio system then you should only find the need for two boards one for the center dome and one for the rear. It looks like your in the SR5 im not sure if they came with the updated sound system or not but im assuming not so you probably only need 2 led boards for the domes. the picture in the post above mine is what the JBL audio system makes the center dome look like (its a seperate head unit to listen to a different audio source wirelessly while sitting in the back seat kids can listen to there elmo and parents can stay sane in there heads lol) if yours doesnt look like that you'll only need 2 led boards but if it looks like the one above my post youll need three led boards.

all the links i sent you are for the 6000k temp color which is as bright of white you can produce. so no worries of getting bluish lights also a word of caution and or just an FYI the 36 count led boards are BRIGHT lol i personly love the brighter light from them; however if you dont really want to have "overkill" so to say you can find a similar board design i think its 24 count or well here's the link to those ill let you decide lol. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00 But like i said I really appriciate the extra light from the 36 count boards, all you need tool wise for the install is a small flat head screw driver to pry/pop the plastic covers off the lights (look for a small rectangluar gap in the edge of the plastic light covers it will look like it was made for a screw driver to push into and open the cover with because thats where you use the screwdriver to pry open the cover lol) dont try to force them off be gental and they will open right up for you. hope this helps
