Steering wheel shake, need help

all right i have a 05 4wd sr5, i recently installed a daystar 2.5/1.5 and put cooper discover ATP 265/75/16. when I get to about 60mph the steering starts to shake. i had the wheels and tires rotated and balanced and it still does it. My next step is to have High speed balancing done. but before i dish out $120 dollars, have any of you had this issue and what was done to fix it. all help and advice is appriciated .

Did you get an alignment done after the lift was installed? It could be related to the issue, that an possible a wheel out of balance.

Make sure they use the finger plate adapter. Discount tire does not believe it needs to be used on factory wheels. However, it does, according to Toyota Service bulletin SU002-96. A finger plate adapter is also called a Haweka Adapter. Once I asked Discount Tire to use the adapter on my 3rd gen the steering wheel shake went away.

HAWEKA

Of course the vibration could come from several causes, this is what worked for me.

good info thank you, i purchased the lifetime balancing and rotating on the tires through discount so ill take it some time this week and ask them to do the dynamic balancing. assuming that is not what they did the first time and I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

check your cv shafts!
you may have a broken bootyfister.
Your experiance is exactly what I did, until i saw the boots. I replaced the left one first now the passenger on monday. they gave my wheel the shakes at 60 MPH. Good luck

That's the problem, you need to have the wheels balanced PROPERLY!
Or just get a balancer at Harbor Freight and do it yourself to make sure it's right.

The Haweka adapter isn't as important as this: Toyota Plate 6 Bolt x 5.50" | COATS 40mm Wheel Balancer Adapters, Cones, Face Plates

The cone is the problem. My local shop has this cone that is used specifically for Toyotas and I have never had an issue getting them balanced perfectly.
