Sup Boys

Man, has it been a while since i posted. Mostly b/c work is getting seriously busy with new clients.

So, i took a ride in my boys brand new taco with the offroad trd package with the billsteins.

My question is this, do you think that they would ever make a 4runner with the trd package. That thing was sweet by the way

lol DICK

It is the bfg's and the suspension. The thing is sick looking. But to be honest, i think the hood scoop on the taco doesn't look as nice as on the 4unna.

It would be nice, but I doubt they would do it. In order to do the full job on the 4Runner, it would also need to have some more ground clearance. I don't think Toyota is willing to release a 4runner with a stock lift and upgraded suspension for liability reasons in the event of a rollover.

The TRD off-road package (on my Taco) included 31" LT tires (for 12" ground clearance), skid plates, off-road tuned front/rear springs, Billstein shocks, a rear locking diff and 410 gears. OH, I forgot the fancy off-road stickers. By the way, even with all these goodies the 4Runner is more capable off-road.

The TRD blower is not part of the off-road package.

I think Toyota is trying to divert attention away from the off-road capabilities of the 4Runner because the average consumer will not be going off-road and is looking for a people mover. Also the average person will see an off-road package as causing a harsh ride regardless of weather it actually does. The people who want to go off-road will know that the 4Runner is equipped and designed to go off-road.

You could look at the 4th gen 4Runner having an off-road package as a standard feature; 17" tires that equal 31" height, high tech electronics that do a great job at creating traction (using traction control), a center locking dif, hill/decent assist, 2 speed transfer case, skid plates, etc. Look at the Pathfinder, it has an optional off-road package that doesn't even have all the off-road equipment/features the 4Runner has standard.

I am dying to know the answer to this question: Can you have VSC package and TRD package (with rear locker) on the same truck?? I would kill for a Tacoma if you can have both!

You can not get both. If you get the off-road package, you get the locker. If you get the stability control, you get a limited slip. Sorry!

Drew, I was wondering where you were. You have been too quiet. How was the Tacoma's ride compared to the 4Runner?

MARK

SUp bro. Work has just been nuts over here, but that is a good thing.

ANywho, the ride was def stiffer. But it def seemed to have more body roll as well. The off the line performance was basically the same, but the interior wasn't as nice as ours. It was def dif, but chinseier i thought. But i do love the fact that there was an option for the trd package. This thing had a mean stance and def was taller than ours.

I was jelous, and he def knew it and exploited it.

That's a surprise to hear. I'd love to hear more about why you think so. I've wondered a couple of times whether I should've gotten one instead of a 4runner. I had assumed it was more capable off road.

The blower comes on the Tacoma TRD Sport package. The off-road packaged Tacoma looks sweet.

There is NO blower available for the Tacoma so I don't know how it could be part of the sport pacage.

I think the biggest advantage the 4Runner has is the way the weight is distributed and the fact that it is much heavier. The ass end of a taco is very light, that

Koz: do you still have your supercharged Taco? I do not see it under your signature.
