Can a remote start be used with existing remote transmitter?

I have keyless entry, but not the stock alarm...
Due to many reasons, I am seriously considering purchasing the 4R stock alarm on ebay and installing it myself.

However, I would like to have a remote starter installed (maybe an aftermarket pro install), and I'm wonding if the stock 4R transmitter can be used as a remote starter also? In other words, is there another, unused channel in that transmitter?

Or, does toyota make a remote starter for it?

Thanks....

There is a remote starter that is an Official Toyota Accessory item (however, it is manufactured for the Hilux Surf), but is a plug and play installation in the US Spec T4R.

I have thought about purchasing this item, many times over. It is $475.00 - however, I am currently saving my money up for another modification (designed for the Hilux Surf) that will be a surprise.

With the Hilux Surf OEM Toyota Remote Starter, you would still need a Imobilizer bypass and would loose a key. Now, I thought about getting a key made for this purpose - where I would cut off the metal so the only thing that would be inside the bypass box would be the transmitter.

I have also been throwing the thought around about modifying my rig to have a fuel pump cut off switch.

There are remote starts available that work with the stock remote. I think you push the 'lock' button twice to start. Not a Toyota part.

Bingo: http://www.luxurymotorworks.com/luxl...mote_start.php

With this unit you just press your lock button 3x and voila. They are currently out of stock but expect to have them available by August. I'm waiting impatiently.

I like the concept..... but $250 ... w/o installation????
There's got to be something less expensive out there that can use the factory transmitter.

I don't have the factory alarm, but I want that too, and I'm "guessing" that a factory alarm must be $300 w/o installation... that's $550... I can get a Viper and remote start installed for just over $600, but I don't want all those horn sounds when arming/disarming. I'm used to the beeps and want to keep them. (call me a phag if you want, but the horn is annoying in my quiet 'hood)

Just got off the phone with the local stealership.... they outsource their alarm installs (obviously) and the quotes are as follows:
...with keyless entry system already in vehicle:

Factory alarm: $369
Factory alarm + remote starter: $459

I think I might go with that. No compatibility worries, no installing myself, no hassles....and I think I can keep the same transmitter, with the rear window function too.

Any thoughts?

I'd make SURE they clarify that it uses your existing remotes - that's my main goal too and I don't plan to settle for anything else.

if its $459 for the RS3200+ and a remote starter then thats a good deal, my local stealership was asking for something like $800, for that I'd rather have a top of the line Python.
