Check engine, vsc trac, trac off

I'm new to using forums so forgive me if I should be able to find this or if it's asked so often it's annoying.

I have a 2003 Sport Edition V6 2 wheel drive, I bought new, 150,000 miles.

The only trouble I've ever had is the air conditioner.

Today 30 seconds after cranking the lights mentioned above came on and the air stopped cooling properly. The air is cold again but the three lights are still on. Anyone have any insight?

Make sure the gas cap is tight and disconnect the battery for about fifteen to 20 minutes.then hook it back up and see what it does . Should reset the computer. If it throws another code take to your nearest auto zone ,pep boy ect and have them check the obd2 codes

That doesn't sound like gas gap, that has all the signals of a serious electrical fault that might have wonked something.

The air compressor on your car is the second most electrically demanding thing on your car, second to your starter.

I have an electrical engineer buddy that recently explained that initial motor start up usually requires 6 times the running load. So, for example, if the AC compressor requires 10 amps when running, at start up, you would see a short (several cycles) huge bump at initial compressor start up. 40/50/60 amps even.

Very briefly and usually it doesn't pop a circuit, but it can.

Anyway. What you say happened sounds electrical..... any code thrown?

Isn't the AC compressor run from the engine via the serpentine belt?
