I have an 03 SR5 and don't have any cracks either. I have had this vehicle for 3 years and armoralled it 2 maybe 3 times. I don't know what the previous owner did.

What I have noticed though, as I went through every page of this thread, is that it seems it only affects Southern U.S. vehicles. I may have missed some Northern U.S. locations and did not see any reports from Canadian owners or from other countries.

This seems strange as I thought that all 4 R's were made at the same plant in Japan?

My first crack arrived after sitting in detroit metro parking lot while on week vacation. The dash had seen 4 of its 8 yrs at that time in louisiana sun before this happened.

Back in louisiana, several more cracks appearing.

- Damn stupid tail light replacement design on the spoiler (just annoying as all get out).
- Rattly sunroofs.

Lots of weird little annoying things with these trucks (and some major ones). Nice truck, but once you've had it for a while you realize a lot of these.
Only thing that cost u anything was tail light. Good deal, no? Bought mine new in 2003, has140k, and has been nearly maintenance free besides brakes, tires, oil changes. I can live with a few quirks st this point. Very satsfied owner.

Is this a Coverlay product? Does the airbag cover not interfere with the airbag operation at all? What about warranty against warping? Price? Shipping? Thanks!

Mine developed a 3" crack two weeks ago. Now it is getting worse. 04' 48,000 miles and garage kept.

I'm ready to trade in if they can't do anything

I think the part is around $800 new. If you're at all mechanically inclined, you should be able to do it yourself over a weekend. This is not a reason to take a huge hit on a trade in.

I called and filed a claim. Got the same thing as everyone else. They won't do anything unless enough cases are documented so if you haven't called in, do so.

About the trade in, probably won't but I certainly shouldn't have to shell out nearly a grand for something like this. My dad had a 68 mustang with orginal dash and no cracks. None of my other cars ever had a cracked dash and I've had hondas and acura's with over 200,000 miles and not one issue like this and not to mention zero rust on the frame. Never gataged. It's frustrating. My truck is a baby with the mileage and well maintained

222 posts. That should be more than enough to prove defect. Why not copy this thread and send it to corp office?

Wow I just came back to the forum to see if I could find anything about this crack. What is wrong with the dash? I never used any Armor All, then I started to see that cracks so I thought I better put a little on to prevent the plastic from drying out, but it is still spreading slowly but surely across the the passenger side. I guess I have to put in a call to that address in the beginning of the post.

Unhappy My email to Toyota

I wrote this to Toyota.
I will creating a Facebook page for anyone who has cracked dash. This way we can be heard, instead of being ignored.

As you should be aware your company has a major problem with dashboards cracking. It is common as I attached just two site for 4runners and Lexus suv that are experiencing cracked dashes. I own a 2004 4runner and the dash is cracked so bad I am embarrassed to have anyone in my car. My 4runner is in excellent condition expect for the dash. A good friend of mine had a 2004 4runner and sold it when the dash cracked 2 months ago and she bought a new Hyundai SUV. She loved her 4runner so much she was going to buy a new one but said no way when the dash cracked. This might not be consider an emergency to you but it is a major problem and you should correct this problem seeing I'm sure thousands of people are dealing with it. I have a 1992 Honda accord. I am the original owner and there are no cracks. Hmmm I guess poor quality is acceptable by your company. I am very upset that this is acceptable to you.
You should be concerned for your customers and repeat customers.

Please read the below sites on cracked Toyota dashes. You should be embarrassed.
