Question Another TPMS question

I have searched all the tire pressure monitoring system threads and so far I can't find the answer to three questions:

1. What is the Toyota part # for the TPMS sensor on my 2005 Sport?

2. Is there an aftermarket source for the sensors?

3. What is the going rate for the sensors, either from Toyota or from an aftermarket source?

Anyone

Not sure about the part #, you can get them from toyota, which i think is quite pricey. Or get them on ebay or maybe from someone selling them here. How many are you looking for? Here is a link to one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TIRE-...spagenameZWD1V

When you get a new one you will have to have it programmed to your truck.

Thanks. According to my Toyota guy the TPMS valve stems are $109.81 each! Ouch!

I know about the reprogramming.

Part # for anyone who cares, according to my dealer, is 42 607 350 10

Now I'll have to go shopping.

What was the end result of this? I need one and Toyota is saying that because I had PepBoys patch the tire they won't cover it. It sucks and I am trying to resolve it but I may end up needing a new one.

They told me that if one is removed all 5 need to be reprogramed? Any truth to that? Any way to smooze with these guys to get it taken care of? I can always go to another dealer.

I assume taking the one from the spare tire won't fix the issue either?

Really no conclusive outcome. I refuse to pay $100 each for the sensors. I have a second set of wheels with snow tires now on my 4R and no sensors and so far no light.

I have been told the only time the system will "see" the problem with no sensors is when I have been on the road for 45 minutes or more - then the light will come on. So far I haven't been anywhere but around town since I did the swap and so far no light. But I doubt I've been on the road for 45 minutes or longer continuously so perhaps the light will come on when I take my next long ride.

I was able to buy 2 sensors for $25 each on eBay but I haven't seen any more come up for sale since. Two isn't any better than none so right now they are just sitting in my desk drawer. If I can cop two more maybe I'll add them to my second set of wheels - or not!

So far the 4R hasn't blown up without them - the wheels all still turn, the motor runs, the heater heats, etc. So in conclusion, I'm not sweating it.
