Putting on emblem, can I use alcohol on paint to clean?
I got a nice new IForce V8 emblem that I want to put on the back of the hatch under the "4Runner" symbol. I know when I installed my ventvisors I used alcohol pads to clean the area to get a good adhesion. Can I do the same on the area that I am going to put the emblem on so it sticks well? I plan on washing prior but unsure if that is enough and I don't want to do something to the clear coat or paint.

I know this is an old thread, but I am getting ready to do the same "mod". The i-forceV8 emblem came from eBay for like $5 shipped, but doesn't have the adhesive backing anymore. I have the 3m emblem adhesive to use but am curious as to how much it would need?

Yep, that is the same stuff that I have to use with the emblem. i am curious as to how much I should put on the back of the emblem. A few small dots, coat the entire back, etc.
I would put a small application on the entire back.
