What do you do with that useless pocket?
You know the one I mean - the one under the HVAC controls and in front of the cup holders.
Too small to put anything in there. If that pocket was deeper you could keep a lot of things there but that cheap little pop out compartment is pretty much useless. I pulled mine off. I'm thinking of rigging up a way to mount my GPS unit there so I can have it hooked up all the time (I've decided I don't need in-dash nav at this time.)
Anyone else come up with a creative use of this space? How deep is the area behind there? I presume if it was deep enough to put in a real compartment, Toyota would have done so. Too bad, it would make a great place to mount an auxiliary radio (CB or HAM.)

Hmm I see the Focus isn't the only car with a useless pocket apparently :P

I keep my registration spare I.D. (in case i get pulled over the day i forget my wallet) and insurance policy card in there. keeps them from getting lost in the glove box or center console. good spot of a passport to if you travel across boarders much.
other than that yeah it's pretty useless.

I have a coupon for a free round of golf in mine, been there for a year and I totally forgot about it until you just posted this.
Thanks! Hope it didn't expire!

I keep a blue pen, a black sharpie, a tire pressure gauge, and my FastTrak (A sort of squarish plastic EZPass for tolls and such if you don't live in the Bay Area). It all fits in there pretty nicely.
I'll admit though I have often wondered about trying to deepen the pocket or something, but for now I am pretty content with it.

I fit in there either an EagleTac or Surefire LED flashlight with nylon case, CR123 primaries for emergency use.
Out of the way and easily accessible.

I always put things in there and they are lost so it is pretty much a black hole used to purposely lose/forget things.

Tire pressure gauge, couple extra AA batteries for my 4-sevens flashlights, pen and a sunglasses cloth.
