All mods done.
Yes, I dumped the Bridgestone H/T 840 this Saturday with 27k miles on them. It could have gone another 15-20k, but with fall coming and rain and snow season coming, better safe tna sorry. Mrs Bear and I are also going on a multi state road trip in 3 weeks across Nevada's Pony Express Route (State Hwy 50) visiting dinosaur digs like the Berlin-Ichthyasaur State Park, across Utah to Moab, Canyonlands and Arches, then east to Colorado to Mesa Verde and Durango, then south to New Mexico and maybe Chaco Canyon nad Publeo Bonita again, and back west though Arizona--maybe stopping by to Chinle and Canyon de Chelle again before heading back north from southern Nevada and back up. A new set of BFG A/T KO 265-70-17 would be ideal for the anticpated dirt tracks, paved highways, snow flurries or rain squalls, or graded gravel and dirt roads.
BFG look real nice on the Runner. Beefy but not too butch. Rode failry well, just a tiny bit more tire hum but that is expected over the highway road tires.
So now I've got my new shoes, PIAA lights, bull bar, all the mods I had planned from the beginning, and consistent with my previous vehicles for some adventuring....not boony crashing or rock climbing, but just adventuring to old mining towns, ghost towns, dino digs, petroglyph hunting, etc.
Sorry. No pics. Techo-doofus here.
