Will the 2013 fj suspension fit our 4th gen 4runners?

I don't see anything that says they've changed much?

I know there are a million threads on this and im about to jack this one instead of starting a new one,

I'm in a hurry to see if this setup will work since its a good deal !

2013 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER STOCK PARTS

they are bilstien shocks/struts and springs are unknown as of now, i did contact the seller and he is getting me part numbers soon.

They are off a 2013 FJ Cruiser and i'm looking to fit them on my 2004 4runner V6 4WD. Bolt on or modification required ? if they need to be modded, to what degree?

Im gonna keep searching for answers but if someone can chime in quick would be great.

thanks !

If I'm understanding (and buying) correctly, the bushings are different in the newer (2010+) FJ's than in the 4th Gens. I believe that the bolt diameter is larger, so you'd have to drill out your 4R to make them fit. The coils will fit regardless. I'm in the process of acquiring a set of 07 bils from an FJ, and just picked up a set of coils (and stock shocks) from another FJ. I very well may be wrong and am more than willing to be corrected if others have better info, but that's just my understanding.

According to the FJ FAQ the springs fit no problem. But the rear shocks need modification.

Yeah iv'e also read a lot that the modification required you to drill the bolt hole on the chassis larger to accommodate the larger bolt diameter. Is that's what they refer to when its stated that "modification" is required? Cuz if so that's not a very big deal.

Also does anyone know what ride height gain a setup like that would produce?

The springs fit and the lift you get varies on the motor you have and amount of sag in your current suspension. IIRC The rear mounting hole for the top of the struts has to be bored out to accommodate the larger diameter also the front strut it's self has to be ground down where the bushing is to fit in the 4th gen mount.

I run the suspension from a 2013 Trail Teams FJ on my 2006 V8. Handles great, gives a small amount of lift. More details and the modifications required are outlined in the following stickied thread.

With 4wd 2011 TT FJ springs I gained about 1.25 in front and about .75 in the rear.
I have Billy 5100 and spacers out back also which gave me a higher lift but this measurement is what I calculated I got from the springs only so its just an average. Plus Ive heard that the TT springs are bigger. this may or may not be true.
I have a 4wd v6
