Transfer Case Swap?

Does anyone know off the top of their head whether you can put a V6 TC into a V8? What I mean is, would you just have to change the 4WD ECU and the switch? Or is it more involved than that? I'd imagine the engine ECUs are separate, right? I'll start going through the FSM and wiring diagrams if no one knows, just thought I'd ask here first

I can tell you the cases are Identical as far as fitment goes the V6 cases just have an extra shift fork to engage 2wd.

The V6 front axles have an electronic disconnect. So basically when you shift to 2wd the computer disconnects the front right axle shaft and locks the center differential as well as disconnects the drive turning the front drive shaft.

So if you were to get a V6 case setup you would also have to get the front axle electrical setup.

Great info aha. Thanks a bunch I didn't know that about the front but it makes sense. So then I guess I'd have to get some extra wiring as well, as I'm sure it's not there already. That is, IF the electrics can be swapped directly.
