Solid Ipad Mounting

Ive never used the radio because i have an aftermarket bluetooth adapter. Its left on AUX and I just use the steering wheel controls. I wanted a screen for the radio but couldn't justify 500-800 for a Double Din with Apple Play. I wanted the abilities to use my offline terrain maps as i Use the 4runner for hunting and going out to places with no signal. My solution was purchasing a Used Ipad Mini 3 with cellular capability for $175 and custom making a solid mount. I looked at every option for Ipad mounting and none of them seemed good to me. The vent/CD/ Magnet options were all too unstable for when I go offroad. The Ram mounts and window mounts were solid but took up passenger room or window space. This was my solution. You do have to permanently alter the center trim piece but I keep vehicles until 250k+ so this wont change the value at that point. I am beyond pleased with the outcome. The Ipad is removable and the USB is hard wired to the factory fuses. So now I have a complete Navigation/ Music setup as well as an Ipad I can take when I get to my Destination. Let me know if this interests anyone and Il try to list the parts used. This this is SOLID and does not budge.

Vent visors

Really missed having vent visors on the 4Runner so I got a set and put them on. Really easy to install!

Ironic that visors would be mentioned today. I listed the ones I took off my ‘07 for free a while back but had no takers. Just tossed them this morning.

lol my weather tech visors just came in today. Installing looks a little sketchy though, I'm scared I might break the visor by bending it.

Mine weren’t bad because I got the ones that surface mount. The ones that mount in the track are defiantly more sketchy!

Wrapping the doors and a few center console pieces and dash to finish my interior color change from dark grey, light grey, and an ugly black. To
Matte black, Midnight purple, and chameleon.

Hoping the dash isn’t too hard to take a part. Pics coming soon.

I was just getting ready to post on this subject - I want to know if anyone one's ever repainted the interior plastic pieces? If so, how do you get the perfect color match?
I'd love to know how your wrap works out!
Thanks!

My weekend mod included going through every page of this thread and removing my destroyed bumper cover after a 1st Gen slid down the hill and into me.

I've since put in HellaSupertones and used the factory harness to power them.

I made a 'loft' in the rear compartment using a cargo net. Plans on putting light stuff up there when camping to keep them out of the way and dry. Ended up being around $18. And I replaced the elastic cord with paracord to keep it tighter to the ceiling.

Found a good and simple radio on Crutchfield, the Boss BV755BLC (Boss BV755BLC DVD receiver with rear-view camera at Crutchfield.com), comes with a backup camera.

Wondering if anyone has experience with this radio, installation, and backup camera installation?
