FJ Cruiser Shift Knob ?
I just want to know if they fit on 4runner 2008 ?
because i'm looking for that:
Anodized Billet Shift Knobs by Ellis Precision - Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum
if they fit, I don't know which one to get ? the AT knob or the long AT knob
If you have other shift knob to suggest post them !
thanks !

I'm fairly certain at least 1 other member has a FJ knob on their 4th gen. Based off what I remember it's a direct swap.

The threads are the same..
HOWEVER.. How far up into the knob the threads are will determine if the shift knob will work or not. You may find that you'll be able to thread the knob on while it is in the "Park" position, but try shifting it all the way down to 2L. There is a small step turned on to the diameter of the shift stalk. The shift knob can not extend very far below this step, otherwise you wont be able to engage all of the shifter positions.

I had to take a part the shift knob and inserted a nut inside low enough for the thread to catch its a PITA but well worth the mod! Shifting is so much better and Its tall enough so can rest my wrist on it while driving

I bought this one from pirate mfg.
FJ Cruiser & Toyota Tundra Large Silver Gear Shift Knob - Pirate Mfg.
The threads were WAY up near the top on the inside of the knob and I ended up having to cut off the bottom 1/3rd of it so that my shifter had enough clearance to get down into 2L.

Is there a way you can explain in detail how you performed the mod?

JBJ, you realize you replied to a 7 year old thread? Doubt you're gonna get a reply. Don't feel bad, I think we've all done it.
