Sudden Weird Drop in Gas Mileage...Ideas?

I have an 02' 4x4 and things have been fine forever. I did my 60K service in July and that was fine. I have been getting the usual 16-17 in town and maybe 19-21 on the Highway. Now I am getting 12ish in town. Tires are inflated right. Everything checks out, but I will say this. I have a remote start and for the last 3 weeks or so it doesn't fire on the first try. So when I do turn it over again after that, it hesitates likes it was flooded , then revs. Do you think i could have fouled a plug(s) and how can I tell? Do I need to reset some ECU or something? I don't know what the deal is. No leakes either. Thanks......B

At the 60 k mile check-up the spark plugs should have been changed. I would pull a plug and inspect it. That way, you will know if that was done and also know if they are fouling.

check the gap spacing on the plugs.

or the other thing to look might be the cables as one might have popped off.

Well i don't think it's a cable because wouldn't the motor be shaking a lot if 1 piston wasn't firing? And I know that the gaps are dead on. What about the MAF....or any other sensors? Any maintenece that I need to do there?

If one of the cylinder is not firing, the engine should shake a little but less so on a V8, My guess is something to do with the intake or emission system.

Wht about resetting the ECU? So it can learn the gas mileage trend again? You know what I am talking about.
