Icepuck72 "Hickory" White 2006 SR5 V8 Build thread

First of all, this is nothing too extreme...but when buying my 4Runner and then looking to mod, these kinds threads helped me out IMMENSELY. It put me in touch with members and I got one on one advice. Some background, I've only owned Toyota Trucks and have wheeled them. After having our second child, the 2011 DC Tacoma did not have enough space. So I purchased a used Runner, my second fourth gen in 4 years. And the name Hickory...my 5 year old daughter names all of our cars. lol

Stock, no mods, first week I brought home.

Swapping the wheels from my DC Tacoma to the 4Runner. These are FJ Cruiser Special Edition Anthracite rims. 16X7.5. Hard wheel to find, and purchase.

After the Daystar 2.5/1.5. Hard to tell in the pics, but huge difference in looks and ride. Sitting next to a stock 4Runner is major.

Installed Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers. This makes the truck sit perfect to me. Rides just like stock. Tires stick out just perfect and has a more agressive stance.

After the Spacers, I needed a new head unit. Fairly easy to install. It's a JVC/Kenwood bought on Amazon for a great price. Mainly for the iPhone, but Androids work well with the bluetooth. Nice touch screen, plays DVD's, etc...

Added a Yakima Rail Grab from my Tacoma to the OEM rack for my Kayak.

Last but not least, Plastidip. I don't like chrome. So this was just the ticket. Not too hard, just need patience and planning for overspray. Worked out great.

in addition, I have all LED's for the interior. Magnaflow muffler...and the resonator which will be cut off in a few and adding a new tip.

Thanks and yes. I just couldn't do it, even with my wife's blessing. I frequented some Tundra boards, searched pics and just couldn't get into it. I've added my touch to her and she's mine. I'll be looking at '98 or '99 Tacomas in the Fall to quench my truck thirst...lol.

Nice Job, looks great! I have an '08 white and want to black out the grill as well. I have blacked out headlight housings so I am still trying to get a picture of how it would look.

LOVE those rims!!! To bad they're so hard to find. I think they would go great with my Galactic Grey S/E
