Kenda Klever M/T 265/70/17

Anyone running the Kenda Klever M/T 265/70/17 tires? Are they super loud for an m/t and approx. How long do they last? I have a 1" leveling kit going up to 265/70 will fit with no issues?

I love Kenda mountain bike tires. But I have seen tires in person with lugs ripped off. Personally I would keep looking. But that is my 2 cents.

Great tire for your bike but stay away from their auto tires.. Buddy had a set on his ride and they were dead in less than 10000KM as stated above lugs ripped off and sidewall deformations..There are better cheap tires out there IMHO

The shop is mounting 255/75-17s onto my stock wheels right now. The tires look fantastic in person and the price is very competitive on them. From what I understand, Cooper bought out Kenda fully as of a few years ago. The quality, in theory, should be pretty good with these automotive tires.

I have seen a couple of pictures online of these Kenda MTs coming apart when new. However, how many people are using these without issue compared to those who've had problems? Probably a lot. I know there are very positive reviews online about these as well.

I'll post pics tonight and give a review of them after they are installed on the 4R which might be this weekend (I have two sets of wheels/tires currently).

Well, here are some specs for the 255/75-17 Kenda KR29 MT mounted on a factory aluminum wheel:

Tread width 8.25"
Section width 10.5"
Tread depth 18/32nds
Weight of wheel and tire 77 lbs
Height from ground to top of tire 31.5"
Average weight to balance 5 oz

These things are huge for their size. I'm wondering if they will even fit. I might have gone overboard. They are a full .5" taller than a 265/70. And compared to the stock tires they dwarf them!

Mounting, balancing, tax, alignment, etc. out the door was $750. It's hard to even find an all-terrain tire for that kind of deal.

If you want, you can order them off ebay for $520 delivered to your door...but then you have to take care of mounting and balancing on your own.

Tonight I will install the fronts and see if they actually will fit. I'm concerned about that. If they don't fit I'll be taking them back for a different tire that isn't as big.

You shouldn't have any trouble fitting. I am running the same size and I ran them with a spacer lift originally. If you do wheel spacers you will need to trim and push the fender liners forward.

That's good to hear. I knew these would be taller than stock (which is what I wanted) but I didn't expect them to measure out a full 2" taller. Oops. But as long as they fit with no rubbing I'll be happy. And my speedometer will finally stop reading too fast!

funny cause i dont linke kenda mtb tires to much the nevigal super tackeys i cant keep the lugs on them. All the side lugs get torn off. So they have issue with car tires and mtb tires keeping lugs on hahaha.

Haha.. I am running small block 8's right now. So far so good. I had a kenda nevegal tubeless version a few years ago rip some blocks off at the 24hrs of Moab. But no issues since then.

Two early observations.. They are louder than I expected. They are rough below 5 MPH like a lot of mud tires. After that pretty smooth. Above 45 they get loud.

Also, my MPGs on the display are dropping immediately. I always see that when I upsize tires but I just hope it doesn't fall too far.

I have read good reviews, got any pics on the truck? They also make an A/T, but I like the looks of the M/T's. I really need something to fill my gaps.

Hit the interstate this morning and at 70 they rolled smooth with zero shimmy in the steering wheel. They are noisy but they are NOT as loud as the BFG KM2 I ran before.

The front is VERY tight with the 1.75" lift. I can't believe some guys can run these on stock suspension. I have literally 1/16" between the mud flaps and tire and front fender lining and tire. It's ok on the street but off-road it's gonna rub like hell.

At 31 psi a chalk test shows them over inflated. The outer lugs aren't touching the road. 25 psi would be perfect for wear, bit I will stay around 30 psi to try and hold onto any fuel economy I can.

After 35 miles the TPMS light still hasn't tripped. I'm using regular valve stems in all 4 new tires and I expected this to make the light on the dash come on. So far it hasn't.

Pics coming later.
