4Runner factory rack/crossbars and bikes

Hello,

I have a 2004 4Runner with a factory rack and crossbars. I'm moving (approx 1000 miles) and need to transport some road bikes. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using the factory rack/crossbars with three bikes? Between the bikes and trays, the overall weight will be well under 100lbs.
I know the crossbars aren't 'top of the line' but I'm wondering if they would suffice for this situation? Any opinions?

Thanks for your time and thoughts~ I appreciate it!
Teresa

I don't anymore, but I used to do the same thing Mike said: 2 mtn bikes plus a yakima megawarrior.

3 roadbikes and 3 trays can't possibly weigh as much as 2 mtn bikes, trays, and the cargo basket as they're over 100 lbs combined (60 lbs bikes, 40+ rack, 2-3 lb trays).

Factory rack is good for 165lbs. I transported a 120lbs two person kayak with no problem 1000 miles.
