I did receive my DT Long Throw headers and Y Pipe. Excited to finally get rid of my steam engine sounding V8.

Questions for group, does anyone have pictures of how they installed the Cats
-Install as part of header down pipe
-Install as part of Y Pipe

Pictures would be useful if possible?

Thanks all

What improvements did you notice with the DT Y-pipe beyond noise performance (shifting you mentioned) How much nose improvement. We have similar builds, DT Headders, Gibson Catback and Gibson upstream cats. OEM downstream cats. I've got a pair of gibson cats to replace the downstream but have not had that work done yet.

If you've got LTs and the DT Y Pipe, I'd cut out the resonators in the y-pipe and replace them with the cats you want to install.

Was this directed at me or someone else?

I have a related question— I am currently considering buying a 2003 V8 with 150,000 mi. The exhaust manifold seems to be ok but I figure it’s a matter of time before there’s a crack. The headers sound like a much better way to go than a new OEM exhaust manifold, but I am in CA and I don’t think I can get the headers because of CARB laws. Has anyone in CA done this modification?

When installing these Doug THorley's what are you guys replacing the bolts and nuts with? I was checking out Toyota catalog here: Exhaust Components for 2006 Toyota 4Runner | McGeorge Toyota Parts

There are apparently two types of bolts?! Bolts for the upper part of the manifold, and bolts for the lower. Why on God's green Earth would they do that? Not just make all 16 the same...

Another user suggested buying some stainless steel ARP bolts and nuts, for roughly $219, but the wait time on those is over a month and I'm not sure I can rationalize that price for 16 bolts and nuts.

This is what you want. Have in stock finally! Will save 1-2 hours on install. Also can torque with never worrying about snapping. If you’d like to see more installed pictures, text me

Titanium Stud kit at Burtman Industries

Also, here are the links to the headers themselves.

Thanks, I already own the headers. Do you have any links to people who have used these studs and are happy with them?

I have installed quite a few sets of DT long tubes and short tubes with high flow cats and, I must say, the Burtman Industries titanium stud kit is well worth the money and will save you some headache on the install.

Have you used these cats for the shorty set up? Amazon.com: MagnaFlow OEM Grade Federal/EPA Compliant Universal Catalytic Converter 51005: Automotive

I ask because my mechanic friend is helping with the install and he says the magnaflow and the ones on my OEM manifolds would be 5-7 inches too long and require a decent amount of mods to the Y-pipe in order to get proper fitment.

Thanks!
