I mentioned a while back how these headers give 30 HP. It's actually 32HP gain/35 ft lbs of torque!!!, more than I thought! Some said no way, and I said they did and there was a dyno, but where-ever it was hosted the link was broken, etc. Another was done and I finally got it. This is on a STOCK TRUCK, stock cats, etc. With a Gibson exhaust, Volant Intake and high flow magnaflow cats (which I also have on sale right now) this truck would give A LOT MORE, probably 15+ more easy. The factory cats are so restrictive that mods like exhaust and intakes help on stock trucks, but no where near what a truck with DT headers would and can do.

BUT, even if you don't care about the power, the gain mpg gains, people have reported on here 2-3 mpg gains. Now, that's if you drive it like you did before the mods, which might be hard for some to do with it being crazy fast after.

@Jason B I've got an exhaust intake leak, which I think is the cause of a "clicking" sound on start-up and acceleration (07 4.7L). After speaking with the mechanic, I'm under the impression that these new headers will fix this issue.. does that seem correct?

Yes, that's the issue that happens on 4th gen v8's with around 100k-150k miles on them. The factory headers crack. Toyota wants $1,500 for both sides, and usually $3000 total installed. The Doug Thorleys are half that thank goodness, and give lot of extra power and a very nice gas mileage bump! And they carry are lifetime warranty, whereas the Toyota headers don't, and will crack again due to the design flaw with them.

Just picked up my 08 V8 with the cracked headers. Will definitely be picking this up sometime in the future. They ever go less than the current listed price? Is it free shipping? Thanks!

How does this effect the emissions test? Will I be able to pass a strict emissions test?

You'll be fine if you weld in some cats...

I'm getting the headers installed next week and can't wait! Also, just got the Gibson exhaust installed from Burtman and it looks like a factory special edition with the ceramic tips.

Canada Counter Tariffs on Doug Thorley Headers 25%

Hi Guys:

I mentioned on one of the other threads that I'm looking for an alternative to the Doug Thorley headers for a 2006 V8. Canada has imposed "counter-tariffs" on USA made steel products of 25% to match the tariffs America imposed on Canada earlier this year.

Anyway, does anyone know of non-USA made headers for the V8? The tariffs only apply to America, so anything from Mexico, Japan, etc will be fine.

There are none. BUT, I can ship these to a close usa bordering state for you, and that would help you out.

ALSO, I have these about $25 off right now! Best i can do and lowest price they will ever be. Use links below to order. Can only do this for 1 or 2 more days. I updated the site a few days ago with the price drop and forget to post here.

Doug Thorley 03-04 headers

Doug Thorley 05-09 headers

REMEMBER, JAN 1, PRICE INCREASE from the factory. Out of my control. IF you always wanted these, now is the time to grab. Same with the Gibson Catback I also have on sale. They are raising prices also on Jan 1. Thanks to the steel tarrifs fee's, etc

Just had mine installed and I've noticed a few things. First, I reset my mpg calculator since the road between the shop and my house is mostly highway and I was getting 21.6. I was over the moon. After a few days of city driving though it's down in the 15's again. I'm not sure if that's because I'm driving it harder now because it is definitely faster, or if the MPG gain promises are overblown.

I'm going to let it calculate for a couple weeks and see what the average comes out to be. That being said, I didn't get this car to hypermile, but it was a nice selling point to hear it would get me back to pre-33" tire MPG territory. I'll be impressed if it does.

Factory computer readings are known to be untrustworthy. Calculate it by hand and it'll give you an accurate reading. I did that and found a 1-2 mpg improvement which is what I lost from the bigger tires!

Just the headers. $750 (quoted 600-800) at Lakewood Muffler and Brake.

But wouldn’t it follow that if I am comparing my current computer calculated mpg to the previous computer calculated mpg, it would be consistent (albeit consistently inaccurate)?
