3rd Brake Light Issue

My 3rd brake light was out. I searched around and read that I will probably have to remove the spoiler to swap it out. So before doing all that, I decided to try the "smack the shit out of it" method. I stuck a broom stick between the brake pedal and the seat, went around to the back, and slapped the light. It flickered a few times, I kept smacking it, then it stayed on. I know this is just a temp fix, since I drove it for a few days and now its out again. Broom stick and slapping got it back on again today tho.

So has this happened to anyone? Is it worth trying to find the loose wire or am I better off just getting a whole new light? I have a feeling this is going to be a PITA...
