Has anyone owned or driven both an 03-05 and 06-09?

I drove my buddy's 4runner today (08) to see how his acceleration was compared to my 05. His gas pedal was a lot more sensitive. Mine seemed pretty stiff in comparison. Could this just be because mine is older or is it a new design? Any ideas?

Didn't notice in the accelerator pedal difference as you are speaking. I did notices using the same amount of pedal, how the 08 would shift sooner and smother with a extra gear in the trans.

Previous 04 new off the lot,( no longer have) and a 08, 39k bought used. definitely like the additional control features now than the prior 4r.

Yeah I have an 05 with the 5 spd tranny. Just seemed like his had way better throttle response. Is there a way to adjust pedal sensitivity?

Did your friend's have a 3" lift and ARB too? Different tire sizes? From my 03 v8 to my dads 08 v6 I don't notice much difference TBH.

3" lift and ARB would make a sizable difference in the feel. LOL.

Just put my street 30.5 tires back on with the SB, big difference.

Smile

I am on my second 03 V8 2WD. The first was a sport the second is an SR5 and they both drive the same acceleration wise because the sport engine is in the SR5. I actually had to swap the engine from my totaled sport into a SR5 i purched with a bad motor. My dads 08 V8 limited is a little different as it has the variable valve timing. His is also 4WD.
