So I purchased Philips 9006 CrystalVision Ultra Headlight Bulbs in hopes that they would have more of the blue look to them. They are definitely brighter then the standard bulbs but not what I am looking for. Can anyone help me out with some suggestions for something that has that bright blue look.

Hi, I have those lightbulbs too and actually I love them because now I can see better at night. If you really want to have that blue blue color, I think maybe you might want to consider HID installation.

blue is useless and dangerous, stay white or warm white for max lumens.

If brightness and vision is your concern, I suggest going with the HID conversions and getting the 6000k blubs. While they are not blue (6000k bulbs are true white) they DO give off the most visible light.

In comparison the 4300k -4800k will be a higher lumen vs 6000k. If max lumen is the point 4300k (most usable light) will be the highest assuming identical V. 6000k have the 'look' people want.

Most bulbs shift in kelvin about 700-1000 after about 150 hrs. So a 6000k bulb will be close to 6800k in 150hrs. To manage the max lumen stick to a 4300k to start as it will shift over the next year..

While the 4300k range might have a higher lumen, they tend to still be a bit yellowish in my opinion. I prefer the white light which while may not have a higher lumen, in my opinion they light up better with their white rather than yellowish hue. Again, this is my opinion, and based only on my experiences with lighting.

yea I will definitely do that. if I do decide to go with the HID conversion it will be the end of this month or first of October.

Lower kelvin do allow a better contrast and visibility. Once you dip below 4000k the lumen start to decrease again. Accounting for kelvin shift over the breakin usage the 4300-4800k will allow the greatest lumen and contrast. But again everyone's eyes are different and each persons applicable of the Laws of Physics will vary.

I personally had issues seeing in dark, wet conditions after I replaced the stock halogens (about 3500K) with 5000k bulbs. When I went to the Sylvania Silver Star Ultras at 4100k (or 4300K, can't recall), everything was much better under those conditions. My fogs are 2500k Hella Optilux XY (eXtreme Yellow) and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The only good, blue or purple tinged headlight is the one with a baseball bat heading for it.
