Eric's Build/Adventure Thread

Things are happening quickly with my new-to-me 2007 Sport 4Runner. As I take it on adventures and add mods, I figured it would be better suited to a dedicated thread instead of random posts.

As it sits today.

Mods:

Shrockworks Winch Bumper
RCI Skid Plates
Warn M8000 Winch
Demello Hybrid Sliders
PIAA 510 Ion Crystal Fog Lights
ICON Stage 2 Suspension (Extended Travel with Uniball UCAs)
Yakima Megawarrior with Extension
BFG TA/KO 285/70/17
Custom Cargo Rear Drawer System
Console Vault
Additional 12V Port
Weather Tech Digital Fit Floor Liners

Stock, taken a few hours after I got it off the lot. Nothing done to the vehicle as far as I can tell, mod wise. Not even any floor mats!

First things were to add the Yakima roof rack which was previously on my Subaru and ad another 12v plug dedicated to my GPS device.

I went on my road trip with the 4Runner with no issues, and when I got back home, I got the windows tinted, added the performance enhancing Kessler sticker, took off the dealer sticker near the Toyota letters on the back hatch, and received my WeatherTech floor liners for the front and back seats.

On the next trip up to the Upper Peninsula, I got some great photos of the car in the woods and other cool places, but the next day I woke up to a flat tire. The vehicle still had the tires from the dealer and they were regular road tires pretty much, but I didn't expect one of them to get such a large leak from regular dirt road driving. I put on the spare and drove to the nearest larger town to order some BFG ATs. Going off the beaten path often, I definitely wanted something that could take a beat more of a beating.

I will continue to update the threads top image as the vehicle changes and will post below as new things happen and I take more trips with it. Hope you guys like it!

I absolutely HATE when dealers do this. When I bought mine last year I specifically requested for them not to put one on mine. Thankfully they agreed.

Your photos are friggin awesome. Keep em coming!

Added a subtle mod today. Got this idea for LTDSC here on the forums. Always loved the Hilux and never realized the 4Runner was a version of it.

Nicely done. I'm not entirely sure where the Hilux Surf lies anymore, I believe the Surfs retained the same 120 to 150 Platform underpinning while the Hilux retains its unique frame... the Tacoma and Hilux Frames diverged before the production of the 2nd Generation (current) Tacoma and so they are not in-fact the same vehicle anymore.

Isn't the 4th Gen 4Runner the same as the 4th Gen Surf?

I updated my post after doing a quick check, the Hilux Surf actually retained the same platform as the 4Runner, the Hilux truck is different though.

Oh ok, cool. I was worried there for a second. I didn't want to throw a Hilux Surf badge on there if it wasn't the same haha. I love the actual Hilux trucks though. Such badass vehicles. Love the arctic trucks version used in Top Gear and such.

I was bored this morning and decided to go get coffee and check out the sunrise. Found a cool little muddy road following these power lines and got the 4Runner dirty. Hard to tell, but that's the full moon setting behind it.

Was hired to head into Washington, Illinois last week to shoot timelapse of some of the destruction caused by the recent tornado. Grabbed this cool shot of the 4Runner outside of this old abandoned house. Ground was soft mod, fun to drive on.

The damage this town took though was immense. Very crazy to see in person.
