CV Axle not fully seated?

I swapped both axles yesterday. The passenger one looks fine but the drivers has seemed to pull itself back out slightly at the diff. See pic below. I tapped it back in and drove a bit and it is back like this. It isn't leaking. Both sides are Cardone, the new ones with the heavy duty boots. Is this cause for concern?

That looks seated. If it wasnt it would leak.

Ok thanks. It's still not leaking yet so I guess it is ok. Just looks strange that's it's not in as far as the passenger side.

Do you live off of Bailey Bridge Rd? Someone was behind me in the morning a couple weeks ago in a nice 4Runner very similar to yours.

Ha, yeah that was it. The Harley cut through rarely works.

Those bronze plates are only dust/debris shields. Be thankful those Cardones even came with them and they're not at all critical to axle sealing to the diff. The axles will slide in and out of the diff housing a few MM's until it's retained by the C-clip. Completely normal.
