Breakin the rules

But maybe I shouldn't have, you be the judge.

Basically, I have a Cornfed 2/1 lift and I just ordered Michelin LT M/S2 285/70 17" tires. I realized I've made a mistake in terms of what Jason Burtman recommends, but let's see if we can right this ship.

Should I just start trimming my fenders/flaps and plan for wheel spacers when I install the tires? Or should I call Burtman and just say I made a mistake, and pay the difference for the 3/2. I'd rather figure out a solution that I could do on my end, but if not, I guess I dun goof'd.

I emailed TireRack to try and switch the tire order down to 265/70 (and so I can get about $100 back!)

But if that doesn't work out, you're saying get the 3/2 AND trim? Or I can go with the 2/1 but just trim the crap out of em?

you are going to have to live with the truck, not me, jason, joe, mike, bob or anyone else that replies to your thread.

if jason doesnt swap them out for 3/2, keep the 2/1 and sell it here to someone. order a 3/2 from someone else and jason will never get your business again or anyone elses that asks you for a recommendation.

tire rack is real real good on returns, just shipping is where the money comes in too play. keep the tires you ordered. get the correct lift you want. move on.

personally i love my truck leveled out and higher. did i have to do major work with my fenders with my lift NO. if i went shorter YES.

Just a little sense of humor there. I would do as what gshadow suggest personally. If they refuse, let them know what he stated.

If they don't, you can sell them on the form as there are plenty of members looking to up grade.

On a side note- my chain saw will be reserved for a couple of TURKEYS that weekend.

Good luck with your calls. Hope everything goes better for you.

Cleared it up with tire rack and switched the order to 265/70/17 before the order shipped. Saved 150 and don't have to go through too much trouble. Thanks for the crisis management counsel everyone.
